It's supposed to be 112+ tomarrow and Wednesday and cooling down to 109 Thursday.

Think I should turn the pool heater off? I think so.

Sheesh! I thought it was hot here with 100* weather. It's actually cool today because of the cloud cover the hurricane brought in.

Better turn that heater off if you don't want people stew.

Sounds like Tucson. Today was the 28th consecutive day of temps 100 or hotter.

We don't go out much these days.

OMG, I would freakin' die.

I feel like I can't breath and start feeling irate when it's in the 90's. It was 100 here the other day and I wanted to move to another state. :

Stay cool mama! (Thank Goddess you have a pool too! Though 90 is probably not sounding so good. :LOL ).

Well, in the desert climate that we live in, I like how the desert teaches me how to conserve and channel my energies.

The desert is very still in the heat. Most of the activity is hidden; underground. This is the perfect place for underground, windowless dwellings.

The reptiles here use the sun's intensity to warm and energize their bodies, but they stay out of the direct rays for extended periods. They tend to slither slowly and lie low. (Wow, that's a tongue twister )

During the daytime in the summer, we like to 'cave it!'

yep, exactly. We are staying inside, unless we are in the pool. And even though it's 107 right now the humidity is only 7% so the heat index is in the 90's. I'm fine with the heat usually, but over 105 makes me stay inside as much as possible. I think we will hit 113 this week no problem.

Yesterday was the hottest day yet, this year, here.

We don't have a pool.
And it's getting pretty humid as we're approaching the monsoon season.

But what I like to do is keep my hair (which is long) wet (and my clothes a little, too). It keeps me cool.

Good thing I don't care what it looks like for me to be walking around all wet! I don't give a flying banana what they think of it - I'm cool and even er!

Do you mean that with the dry air, they say it feels cooler than it actually is?

We're at 89F at 6pm, but with the humidex it says it feels like 105F. Luckily our heat doesn't last for too long, usually just some of July & Aug. I can't imagine 100 days of 100F+ weather!

We spent the day in the basement, sick, with *head colds*. In July. In this weather.

Yes, the humidity effects how temp is felt by us. And since the desert has lower humidity than other climates it generally feels cooler than it actually is. Same reason why I am fine over 100 in the desert but sweating and dying in 90 degree weather on the coast.

It's only been in the upper 80s-mid 90s here this year. Today it's only in the upper 70s thanks to the rain that will be here for eternity now from the Hurricane. The humidity's killing me though. When I cheked this morning, we were at 88% humidity. It's miserable. It feels like someone throws a blanket on you when you walk outside. Blech!

I'm with you OwensMa (from one Owen's Ma to another ) It's 28 here, but the humidity is about 60%, so it feels about 35. That's at 11pm. UGH

For those who don't speak Centigrade, that translates to : it is about 83, but feels 95 because it's wet !
