Okay, we've heard of Mother Blessings, and I've heard of a Red Party to celebrate a young woman's first period. But has anyone ever done anything to celebrate menopause? It seems like there should be something. Following the Maiden - Mother - Crone as the three phases in a woman's life, I think it would be fun to have some kind of meaningful and fun party to celebrate the third phase. My mom is going through it now, and I would love to have something for her.

Has anyone ever done or heard of this? If so, what did you do? What did you call it?

Even if you've never been to one before, anyone have any creative ideas of what I could do?

While the idea is nice if it is something the woman would enjoy, I just don't care for the name.

I agree, I don't like the name either. The word crone has taken on a negative conotation in our culture. Maybe something with the words Wise Woman in it. Hmmmm..

Thanks for the link, UnschoolnMa!

Reclaim the Crone!

And the Coot!

And the Hag!

And the Ol' Biddy, too!

You are very welcome

I don't see anything negative in the word crone. But then I don't see anything negative in a variety of words so....

I would be fine with the word Croning for me, but I don't think my mom would like it...
