Well, I'm going back to my new doctor today, regarding the Lyme Disease. I was diagnosed with Lyme Disease back in January, and I have yet to find a doctor willing to treat the LD properly. This doctor said two weeks ago that the next time I came in, after all the blood work was in (testing for coinfections, and to see how severe the damage is to my thyroid), we'd set up a treatment plan.

I've gone to other doctors before, thinking they were going to treat me for the LD. They all let me down, either because they weren't educated about Lyme Disease, or because they didn't accept my insurance.

In a few hours, I will know whether or not I have hope.

Good luck and good thoughts coming your way. It is absolutely maddening how tough it is to get a doctor to listen to you!

Well, I went to the doctors, and to make a long story short... I'M GETTING TREATMENT!!! I got some prescriptions, and I just started a few hours ago.

I've been sick for years. I've been diagnosed since January. I've started treatment today.

Thank you all so much for the positive thoughts... they worked!

Oh, and I forgot to mention... I found out this morning that I still have Babesiosis, which is another tick transmitted illness. It can be fatal. In fact, a well known sociologist and author (Leo Bogart) died from it on October 15th. I was improperly treated back in April after I tested positive then. Obviously it didn't work. Usually Babesiosis goes away on its own, but I've been so ill, my immune system hasn't been able to fight it.

The doctor didn't prescribe medication for the Babesiosis, though, as the side effects from the medication are horrible (include hearing loss). He'd rather a specialist see me and treat me for that one. He's trying to locate a specialist who accepts my insurance and will agree to see me.
