Mine (at least this week) are:

-Perrier (from Costco; I blame pregnancy!)
-Homemade lemon curd (I've been eating it straight)
-Having a cleaning woman
-Taking a 10-15 minute hot shower every single day
-Tivo! (Right now Project Runway is #1)
-Philosophy skin care stuff (I blame Oprah!)
-Going out every Tuesday night (DH does bath and bed alone)

What about you?

-Erin

Chai, I drink at least 4 cups a day. It might be more of an addiction than an indulgence though.

I take long hot showers a few times a week. Oh I love them!

An obvious one MDC.

You know you are a mama when a daily, 10 minute hot shower is an indulgence!

At first i thought you meant you know you're a mama when You NEED a Daily 10 minute shower... then i reread it. A lot of people think a ten minute shower is too long, I think. For me actually it's normal

I've decided that I'm going to get my hair cut at least once a month. I don't get my nails done, wear expensive clothes, and I really don't put that much thought into my appearance.

However, I like having a nice haircut and it really improves my self esteem when my hair looks good. A haircut can really ruin/improve your appearance and it's one thing I promised myself this year.

I normally cut my own hair and it just usually looks like crap.

My husband gets his cut every two weeks or so, and I don't think $20 a month is going to break us. Besides which, there's this really hip hairdresser from NYC who gave me a FAB cut the other day and I'm so in love with her now. My hair has never looked better and she gave me exactly what I wanted.

Hrm, it's not very costly, but in terms of the level of indulgence, definitely my Costco bottled water.

Our water at home is so icky that I can't stand to drink it.

We buy it three cases at a time--each case has 35 bottles.

Not only is it the only water i drink, but I will sometimes boil it for oatmeal or hot cocoa or mocha. I give it my birds and sometimes to the dog and cat. Always the birds, because the hard water builds up nasty stains in their cups that are hard to get out.

I water my plants with it cuz I'm sure all the gunk in my tap water is bad when it builds up in the plant soild.

In temrs of money--then my cable/cable internet. $90 a month for a pure luxury. Ok, so the internet isn't a pure luxury and the cable enables us to spend under $20 a month on VOIP instead of regular phone+long distance+dial-up internet (internet is required for school), but it still feels like a luxury to have a $90/month bill for something that is almost purely entertainment.

Well, I can be in and out in about four minutes, when I need to. That's no shaving, just wash and out. But I don't, personally, think ten minutes is an indulgence. I would LOVE to be able to take ten minutes. But ten minutes would either mean ten minutes of listening to my children wail outside the shower door, or ten minutes of wondering what utter and absolute chaos I will emerge to find.

My DH, he's another story. Forget water conservation. He takes 20-25 minutes in the shower every morning. And he usually takes a bath sometime later in the day, too. Now that is indulgence!

my indulgence is books. I am totally addicted to them. Before I had dd I'd read around 500 pages a day, now it's only about 150 sometimes 300, but man, that's a lot when you have an almost two year old. I don't think they're as much indulgence as they are a need for me... I think I'd rather starve than go bookless. : So the secret's out... I'm a total nerd.

I do the bottled water thing too. Our water smells really sulfury and is a bit murky....blech! I don't consider this an indulgence.

We generally eat out at least 1x or 2x a week.

Chocolate....at night when everyone is sleeping.

I used to have a pedi, mani, waxing pretty regularly before dd was born. Now I have those memories

hrm, I forgot my most favoritest one of all time cuz for it has been so long.

When I'm not pg my very favorite indulgence is alcohol. No, not a nice glass of wine either. I'm talking tequila shots or vodka infused with fresh fruits for months and then consumed.

I'm talking a half dozen friends, a big round table, and a barkeep who keep the chilled vodka shots coming.

I'm talking a perfect kamikaze, whihc imo is 1/3 Smirnoff Black, 1/3 Rose's Lime Juice, 1/3 triple sec.

I'm talking Long Islands and Cosmos and just about anything that involves a shaker (excpet for I don't much like martinis and most bartenders shake for far too long. I guess it'll be a heck of a long time before I'm once again up on when the good bartenders are on--the ones who get that ice melts after a bit).

I'm talkign just the right glass--the neat little cocktail glasses with the painted optial bottoms, the sturdy shot glasses, the rocks glasses, and the tall skinny glasses for vodka shots and tequila. Never the hugely oversized martini and round glasses the chain-type bars use. They're crass and designed for looking at, not for drinking from.

Ah well, it's been 4 months since I had a real drink and even though I can probably sneak one in occassionally once the round-the-clock newborn nursing settles down, it'll never be the same. It was fun while it lasted. Maybe in fifteen years or so, when I'm done with kids and nursing and such.

Magazines; home decor, outdoors, style, gossip. - Used to be books, but my attention span is shot!

I need to indulge in a favourite more expensive face cream - Soy by Fresh. I havent for a few years though. hmmm I think this is the month for that

Long showers when I have them, espeically in the winter.

Clothes, no wait, I rarely buy them now. But I indulge myself, online, by making a wishlist @ Anthropologie - things that would be fun to have if I had an extra 1000$.

Good coffee beans.

HGTV.

Good chocolate. (I ate all the chocolate my mom bought for the kids for Christmas and did not give them any. I think of it as a mama tax.)

Burt's Bees chapstick - I buy 5 or 6 at a time so I'm always stocked up.

Black and white photographs - I do not have naked walls, and yet I keep buying them. And taking them, which is more justifiable.

Chocolate, the Mommy Tax. OMG, that is so true!!!

So what kind of chocolate to you like? My latest favorite is Green & Blacks. Yumm Yumm

I'm not the indulgent type. I would say a good massage would be indulgent but I have not had one in a long time!

I really do need to indulge myself more. I am having a hard time coming up with a list.

I guess taking a break to sit and surf the boards is an indulgence for me.

I also have a cup or two of coffee on the weekend.

My chiropactic adjustments and massage appt., I do as needed. And going to the naked lady spa.

I also tend to splurge on family photos with a great photographer. So priceless.

Honestly, my greatest indulgence is my time on MDC or the internet in general. It is "me" time!

other than that, I would have to say that I go way over our food budget to "indulge" in fairtrade organic coffee and organic produce.

And I sleep in every Saturday and SUnday and DH gets up with the kids and gets them dressed and gets them breakfast. Then I get my coffee and read the paper in bed

I've never been a big TV watcher (only have a couple of shows I enjoy), but my DH got me a DVR for Christmas and I am making so much use out of it...Indy films!

I also love a long hot soak in the tub with a book, and I utilize my library.

A mexican pizza (hold the meat and cheese) and small Pepsi from Taco Bell once a week.

I would seriously die without it. We are both unemployed and cannot afford to buy or do anything but I WILL NOT give up that little indulgence....even if it is the last $3 I spend. And yes, I know TB is evil. I really cannot help myself. Really I can't.

*I*, TB, am not evil!

Oh, you meant Taco Bell.

My biggest indulgence used to be delicious fountain Cokes from McDonalds ( also evil.) Then I gave up caffeine.

I still eat chocolate ( not much caffeine in it, I've heard.)

I have books, DVDs and CDs...and I journal. These things keep me nearly sane.

I've got to go with magazines as well, I now limit myself because I could read EVERYTHING from gossip rags, fashion, home stuff, etc. It can get really pricey, and I'm also trying to read some at the library! I blame it on my family, my sister was in line at the newstand the other day and the guy behind her said "oh, are you stocking up for a doctors waiting room or something?" LOL, the guy working there said "No, she comes every week!"

I also like to shop for jeans , its a sickness.
