I used to love the Lik M Aid's or Lik A Sticks (thats what I called them) when I was a kid.

But I got to thinking about the other fun candies I loved....

Hard candy dots on sheets of paper.

Wax bottles of colored "juice."

Candy cigarettes. Loved to blow the powder out so it looked like smoke.

Bazooka Joe bubble gum. Always seems to be hard as a rock now..

Those plastic fruit shaped containers of sugary flavored powder.

Abba Zabba bars.

Penny candies. Or nickle ones!

I'm sure there are more, but my mind just went blank. One of the twins snuck uop from bed and scared the bejeebies out of me!

What were some of your favorites?

Janis

Okay, EWWWWW to everything except the Bazooka Joe and candy cigarettes.

What about those Necco wafer candies? They were different colors and came in a long roll. Those were good!

Candy necklaces!

The wax bottles full of juice came in a little 5 pack and were called Nikl Nips. I got them at Woolworths. Not that Woolworths was even around when most of you were born.

I remember Woolworths. I also remember going and having lunch or ice cream at their little diner. Not so much a diner as a counter but you could sit and eat. I used to go with my grandma. They had the coolest things there.

Abba Zabba's are a candy bar. A kind of nougat rolled very long and flat but a layer of peanut butter filling inside. I still find them now and then and will stock up! If they get old, they do get a bit hard, so you had to put it under your thigh and sit on it to warm it up and make it chewy again.

I never did like Neccos. Still don't.

Chika Stix! Like a butterfinger minus the chocolate!

Candy necklaces! I get those for the kids now and then. Did just see a thong back "swimsuit" made out of those the other day. Also a thong for men. I will not mention what kind of store since this *is* a family site.

Pixie Sticks were awesome! And if you cut both ends off, slit it down the middle, you could make spoke covers for your bike with them after you ate the candy.

Still can't remember any others though... UGH! Old age memory loss setting in!

I always loved Zero bars. I still find them every once in a while when I travel, and I always buy several.

Green Apple Double Bubble gum.

Tangy Taffy in flavors like chocolate and vanilla.

Marathon bars.

When I was a kid there was a comic book shop a few blocks from our house where you could trade comics 2 for 1. They also had the worlds greatest candy counter. I loved going up on a Saturday with my sisters and loading up on candy and Archie/Richie Rich/Casper comics.

I always liked Big League Chew bubblegum!

And:

football chocolates
pixie stix
wax lips (a Halloween treat)

When I was in the 5th grade, the craze was to bring pre-sweeteded kool-aid to school to eat. And my mom let me! Yikes!

I like Black Jack gum (but would have hated it as a kid).

Me too!! I can remember my grandfather taking me to the convience store and letting me fill a bag up of candy (one of the few good memories I have, gee wonder why I have issues with sweets). I would stuff it with all kinds of yummies. A lot that have already been listed. Lots of gum I loved gum (also a pouch of the Big league chew)!!! I too loved the candy cigs, wtf were they thinking making those.

We did that with jello! Just dipped our fingers in it. ICK!

Just about every candy listed here, you can still get. Our local Dollar General has some of the stuff, and Meijer's has the rest.
