So, I did something I haven't done since 8th grade. I cut my very long all one length hair to very short (for me) hair.

I donated 10 & 1/2 inches of hair to Locks of Love. I've been trying to get it cut completely for the past 2 weeks, went as far as sitting in the chair with the drape around me. And just tipping my hair dresser, I wimped out :

I had some time, they had an opening I got er' done lol

I'm sad, but more proud of myself for helping others. I hope anyway. All 10 & 1/2 inches was healthy, I just got a cut 3 weeks ago.

So, here are some pictures. Excuse my double chin lol

I did the same thing in January. I chopped off 11 inches and donated two ponytails.

Congrats on the new cut!

I read some disturbing stuff about Locks of Love here on MDC, so now I'm hesitant to donate to them... not quite sure what I'm gonna do when I decide I'm sick of my hair now.

Dawn, mama to D (3.06) & N (9.07) C (11.09) & Still-in-shock surprise due in Aug!

: I just had about nine inches whacked off. I didn't donate as it was really bad condition. The hairdresser was freaking out, are you sure? are you sure? It looks like we just about got the same cut, mine is just even shorter in the back but same length at the front. I love it! I can wear my neckace without my hair getting ripped out by the clasp. I cut all the long hair out of my vacumn rollers and plan to never have to do that again! Three cheers for short hair! And I'm going to a new house, where I plan to "not plug up the bathtub drain with my stupid hair"! And, I will no longer be getting grumpy with DS for his knack of sitting/standing on my hair constantly (ouch)! And, it takes like ten minutes to drip dry instead of hours. Oh I love short hair!

Wow, you look terrific! What a cute cut, and good for you for donating. I've heard some contraversial things about LOL too, but what else are you going to do with it... Throw it away? You look 10 years younger!

Oooo! You did it! Congrats!

I'm still undecided...I have about 8 inches I could donate. Do they take 8? It's not in that great condition though.

Do you like your short hair? Any regrets? I think it looks fabulous!!!

There are other charities that accept donations of hair. The American Cancer Society springs to mind, and there are probably others.

Ann-Marita. I deleted my usual signature due to, oh, wait, if I say why, that might give too much away.
