There's a long thread in Breastfeeding Advocacy where tons of wonderful mommy lactivists posted.

Take the time to heal from your marriage before you move on with someone else. Make a list of all the qualities you would like in a new partner and then work on growing that way yourself. ~mandib50

What happened there? I don't go there because 1) They're too far away. 2) They don't sell my size. But, I would have taken my 5 year old for a nurse-in if I'd known about it.

yes but I don't think anyone noticed us. There were only 3 of us, my toddler was more interested in the balloon animals than nannies, and the other two babies (both 7 weeks) decided it was a better time to nap than to nurse. So we looked like a couple moms with babes in slings (and a toddler running crazy) just gabbing)

I was really ambivalent about it for a couple really good reasons and a couple really lousy ones. In the end I decided to go but then had a crazy morning and couldn't make it. Fussy baby, sick DH, and got on the road too late home from where we'd been staying for a couple of days for my classes.

Kinda' feeling really bad about not showing

ETA: I NIP'd at a law school today though. And on the street.

No, nearest VS is 120 miles away.

Off topic, but...
They were going to build one here, and would you believe the #*@& people here protested because the underwear they sell is too risque? Jerks. It just so happens that SOME OF US have DD boobs and can't buy our bras at Target. Maybe if I start going braless they will realize the error of their ways....

We went to the VRC in Eugene, OR and only one other person showed! No press, nothing. We both felt silly and left without actually going in. After all, this is Eugene, and nobody cares whether you whip it out and nurse anywhere you choose. Everyone's seen it and most everyone has done it.

I did! I organized one! Nurse-in Cleveland went swimmingly! We had it at an outdoor mall that was also having something called "liberty fest" which I think means "celebrate capitalism", but whatevah, I digress. Liberty fest meant there was sidewalk chalk for the kiddos right in front of the store on the streets and there were a MILLION people there. We even had a guy on stilts supporting us.

About fifteen moms showed up with their children/nurslings/families and our local paper with a reporter and a photographer. Can't wait to see tomorrow! The Sunday paper!!! woot! We just sat outside nursing and talking to each other and milling about then we went in the store and browsed and nursed and made fun of thongs. The employees were fine with it and totally welcoming (one mentioned she was a former breastfeeding mom ). No one ever harrassed us and people seemed to know what we were doing. We did have a bit of a spat with a sidewalk chalk artist, but I think that's okay now. Good times!

All told, there were (if my math is correct) 46 mamas/nurslings/kids/husbands/supporters in attendance at the Cleveland nurse-in plus one reporter and one photographer and 4 ppl walking by who said something like "are you guys doing that nurse-in?" In fact, two young guys came by and said, "It's 1:02! I thought there was supposed to be nursing mothers here!" I don't know what they were doing or why, but they did. Anyway:

Thanks so much for those pictures!!! I realized when I was flipping through them that I had the biggest smile on my face...then I got tears in my eyes. Then I felt jealous because I wanted to be sitting on that curb with you all smiling and laughing and nursing my babies. {{{sigh}}} I really wanted to go.

If anybody showed at Monroeville, I missed them.

Got a good reminder of why I never waste my time with them though, seriously restricted size range--at pretty much the entire mall!
