Just curious. We're having an all-american BBQ, some yummy, juice, RED steak salads, corn on the cob and I'm making a yummy dessert (looking for a cool recipe as I type) My mom is coming over and that's it. Dh already put our american flag outside, it's so cute to see him so proud of the US since he's from Chile. I didn't even remember to put the flag out, it was him. I saw him walking out with this huge american flag lookin' all proud

I wanted to have an all-american cook-out, but are grill is toast.

We are going to go to the parade in the morning and then to the fireworks in the evening. Just going to bum around the house in between it all.

I have a sneaking suspicion I will be attending a birth. I already had a client deliver today, and have one more that is 41 weeks. Something tells me I'll be at the hospital tomorrow.

We are having some people over for a cook-out. Does it make you unpatriotic to make English trifle on the fourth of july? The colors will be red, white and blue with the berries! Sadly no fireworks here because of the drought. We have a burn ban in effect.

Going to my step-dad's parents house where everyone gathers to walk the block and a half to the lakefront to watch the fireworks, and eat some hamburgers, hot dogs and brats. I'll be bringing an eggplant to slice and grill instead. Not really in the mood for red meat or pork products. I've been dieting, and would like to stick to the veggies as much as I can. If there's chicken there, maybe I'll partake.

I'm going to my parents to grill out. Tonight is our city's big celebration, Red White and Kaboon (obviously fireworks are included.) The big kids and dh are at the pool to watch that, I'm here with the sick toddler.

Ah, my favorite! Red!

I made potato sald, green sald, cole slaw. WE've been celebrating for days! Hot dogs last night (1st one I've had in years, but I wanted one sooo bad!) Tonight we had cold sandwiches and salads, tmorrow, hot sausages and chinese sausages on the grill.

Our fireworks were postponed till saturday!

Im also gardering, feeding the piggies and protecting my hens from a coon! Plenty to do !

We'll be having the In-Laws down to our house to entertain them and their kids. I've already bought all those things I would never allow in our house that they require, and emptied my sewing stash out of the crib since SIL does the crib/CIO thing

fun day ahead, yeah.

We are going to a little fair/fireworks show nearby. We'll take a cooler of food and drinks, a blanket and spend a few hours doing whatever over there. The live music was dreadful last year so fingers crossed for better this time lol.

I debated about this. I am really unhappy with where our country is headed right now, so I don't know WHAT I would be celebrating, kwim?

Well, anyway, we JUST missed the parade (parking) which is a shame, because the Filipino float always wins for floats and the alternative school I used to teach at ALWAYS wins the marching one.. they even beat out the local military branches .. we did go to the city sponsored park though, the kids went on some rides, I got a henna tattoo, and bought a cute little tunic from Ecuador... Then I went to two thrift shops and TOTALLY LUCKED OUT and found some nikky covers and premium prefoldds.. may grill later. city fireworks tonight are visible from our house, no private ones allowed in town due to fire hazard.

yes, you caught me. I wanted to "pretend" it was a fourth of July celebration, but really it's our annual britney fan conference

well, if you ask me, americans have always been known for their profound love for their country. I come from Chile and everyone there hates their own country, and its so sad. which is why we have always loved when americans put their hand on their heart when they sing their national anthem. I dont think you have to agree with the current administration or current events to celebrate the birthday of the US. I'm proud to be an american, regardless of whatever is going on and if I agree with it or not.

that's pretty much where I ended up, too. I did have to question myself, though.
