Not a major concern but, just wondering.

I just sent a letter to my childhood best-friend and was wondering how to address it. I have only seen her a handful of time since we were teenagers.
She was married for a couple of years (took husbands last name) but got divorced. I have heard that she might have married again but, I'm not sure. If she has, I have no idea what his last name is or, if she took it.
I ended up writing her original (maiden) last name on the envelope.

I doubt she cares either way but was just wondering if that was the "proper" thing to do?

I tried looking it up but, I can't find this situation on any of the etiquette sites.

If I got a letter to my maiden name, I'd assume it was someone I hadn't see in forever who didn't know my new name.

I think it was the best choice to use the maiden name since you were unsure of what other name she might be using.
