Those little rubber grippy things smell aweful when they get hot. And unlike sponges, the microwave doesn't dry wet gloves, it just makes them scalding hot. (The blisters on my hand are proof of this.) As my friend told me today, "you come off as smarter than this." :
So I'm spreading the message, just in case anyone else comes up with this hair-brained idea. :

Yes, it is also a good way to sterilize sponges! This doesn't work for gloves, however... (and you'd think I would have remembered this lesson from last year when I tried drying shoes in the oven... selective memory, I guess.
