DD's classmate just moved into a new house. She's having a "welcome party" for a few friends. The girls are all 9 and in grade 4. Should DD be bringing a gift? If so, what's appropriate? I usually bring a bottle of wine...

How about something for her new room? A throw pillow for her bed, cute picture frame, poster, etc.

My girls love having wipe-off boards for their bedroom doors. Blankets, throws, pillows sound good too.

A girl's photo album, picture frames, stationary to write letters to her other friends, or a journal/scrapbook?

Thanks for the great ideas. We got her a funky, opalescent, squishy throw pillow.
