Wow, that's cool. Is that something you can wear rings in so you can lace up ribbon in the back?

Awesome. Looks like something I'd lace up in a heartbeat!

Congrats! What's the rejection timeframe?

It isn't meant to be laced up..... I can't put rings in it. They are bars that go across my spine, so.... a ring wouldn't work. Although I could wrap the lace around each ball in some way..... but yeah, that wasnt really the intention.

I sleep on my side all the time, I almost never sleep on my back, so I haven't had to adjust to that at all. This is only about a week old, but I can say that I have been able to lay on my back briefly, anyway.... but I do avoid it.

These piercings shouldn't reject, but we'll see. I do intend to keep them. It is pierced with tygon which has been working really really well for surface piercings, and this piercer knows a LOT about what he is doing.... so yeah, they should stay in.

I should mention that I got them done because I'll be modeling these piercings for the piercer.... he is making a book, and it may be included in some advertising as well. I could never afford these piercings if anyone wondered, lol!!! It's worth about $1000.

Oh, and as for the pain..... it doesn't hurt now unless I bump it. I've had things that hurt worse, honestly........ like having a baby!!!! ... and in my opinion, cartlidge piercings hurt worse, and a lot of people have those.

Ouch! My back hurts just looking at that. I'm too much of a baby to get something like that done. I'd be so worried I would get it caught on a shirt or something.

I don't take that the wrong way and I am fully aware that some people think its crazy and pointless and weird... and thats okay.

Alright, so to answer the question! My first answer is..... I think its beautiful. Its the same reason that I wear a necklace..... its pretty, I like it, I like to decorate my body, etc. It is also unique and honestly.... I think its sexy.

However..... I wouldn't have gone out to get this done on my own. I was offered a chance to model these piercings and that is an incredible opportunity for me. The idea of modeling piercings come up with a shop that I have been going to for a quite a while (and they are very well known for what they do).... and these were the piercings that I chose to do. I liked these the best and out of the ideas that were available, these were the ones I thought I would want to keep.

So while I wouldn't have just gone out and done it for "no reason".... I do love it and I'm glad the opportunity came up.... I'm glad there was a reason to get it done and I'd love to keep it.

So I hope that answers your question.

I do have a few other body piercings..... mainly my lip right now (vertical labret)... which is my FAVOURITE. Again, I think its beautiful.

Thank you for your reply! Again, I didn't mean to sound snooty or anything...just a question that pops into my head when I see something new! It's nothing I would do, mainly because it looks uncomfortable, but I can see the artistry of it. I'm glad you enjoy it.

Wow, I have never seen anything like that. Hoe did they do it? I am picturing the beads each being conected through a wire so ball_______ball but that seems like a lot of metal under your skin to reach that far apart.

Did you use anything to numb it while it is being done?

How long and what gauge is the tygon?

I have a 2 inch 10g piece in my wrist, but either those are a lot longer than mine, or you are a bunch smaller, could be both!

You are right in what you described... that is exactly how its done. And each one is diagnoal, although its hard to see that in the pictures. And it isn't metal under my skin, it is tygon which is flexible and basically looks like plastic tubing.

And no, we didn't use anything to numb the area, although by the end of it I nearly asked if that were possible. I didn't bother though, because if it WAS possible, he probably would have already done it.....

You know, I'm not sure how long it is..... I tried to feel-measure, and it seems to be 2 inches long. Its 14ga, if I remember correctly (I remember him mentioning 14 so I'm pretty sure that is what he used). Also, they are diagnoal, if that makes any difference with how you see it.

I will DEFINITELY post the professional photos!!!!! We should be getting them done early January, once my back has had some more time to heal and the tygon needs to be trimmed to fit better.

Thanks everyone.
