could I get prayers, positive vibes, what ever kind of good energy you can send her way?

she is not doing well. they had to defib her 7 times
when in the ER the care coordinator called everyone back and we really thought we were going to lose her at that moment.

thank God my brother was home at the time - he got out of prison on Friday. my dad was home but wasn't in the house. brother did cpr until the emts got there.

they did an arterial cath and found a complete blockage in one of her arteries and were able to put a stent in - so that's good news. bad news is her BP is very low and she is still critical.

:

I love my mama, I'm not ready for her to go.

You and your mom are in my thoughts. We went through this w/ my Grandma a year ago. She pulled through but there were some pretty tense moments!

We've been through similar with my Dad - sending good wishes and thoughts to you and hoping that the stent does the trick.

I wanted to thank you all for your prayers and good thoughts.

I spoke with the cardiologist today and he said he was very surprised she made it - she had 9 heart attacks while at the hospital.

in very very good news, she is off the cpap (breathing assistance) machine and breathing on her own. She is in a lot of pain now that she's off the cpap machine and didn't want to take pain killers but we were able to convince her that taking a dose of morphine would help her get through the very tough spots.

when I left, she was resting somewhat comfortably after a dose of morphine. her heart rate and BP have been stable but she is still in ICU.

the pulmonary doc said this is the earliest he has seen anyone off the cpap after such a massive heart attack.

I was afraid she would have anoxic brain injury - if she's able to argue with you, then I don't think that's the case. Great news!

I was very worried about that as well. before she was admitted to the ER, before the EMTs showed up she did stop breathing but my brother did CPR and kept the O2 going to her brain (she was not breathing for about 10 seconds before cpr was started). when she was in the hosp they were able to ventilate her and by the grace of god it doesn't appear that she has any severe brain injury. she knows who everyone is, where she is, etc. she is very, very lucky.
