Thanks for all of your help.

I like the first one!
I'll post pics later when I've fixed it.

Oh yeah. Bright maroon. It was pretty awful. I saw someone I knew when I was coming out of the salon and I told them I had just been in there getting a bad dye job fixed. She blinked a couple of times and said, "That's fixed?" All I could say was that she should have seen it before.

LittleOne03- You know it's bad when a friend responds to it that way.

***UPDATE**** I bought 2 different Garnier Nutrisse reds. One was a lighter and I put that one in already (I look much much better at this point). I'm waiting a bit to put the auburn (final color) in. I have a clingy no-nap nursling today. I'll post later with a photo.

Okay, all done.
It's a lot more red than I was expecting, but I think it will grow on me.
It also looks a great deal more natural than that lovely orange/yellow.
My new hair color
For comparison, my original "after bleach" photos are in post #22.

I appreciate all the help.

I'm glad you like it. Sorry I'm not showing my face. It's a little weird I know.

: I've heard bad things about dyeing your hair black (like how nearly impossible it is to remove, has to be "grown out", etc). Some people are fortunate enough to look great with black hair, though.

ETA- Thanks for the compliment.

Very nice! Looks very pretty on you. I'm glad you were able to fix it and didn't end up with $100 maroon hair!

I wanna see your pretty face... (unless you don't wanna show your face which is why you're strategically blocking... in which case, I still wanna see it but will completely respect your boundaries by not obnoxiously requesting a face shot)

The color is very pretty on you. I have to say it does look a *tiny* bit fried, though (not bad at all, you can just tell it's been "tampered with") -- make sure you put a deep conditioning mask on it (one designed for colored hair) just to be safe and prevent breakage. It is such an improvement, though! Very cute.

Hair after

It was light brown so it's a bit drastic.

I think it looks good on you.

I like the new color too.

Thanks for the compliments everyone.
I love it more today after my shower. The red isn't so "punchy".

Muckemom- : Someday soon I'll have my website link in my signature and my photo will be there. I looked waaaaay too silly in the face pics I had.

HoneymoonBaby- Thanks for the advice on the deep conditioning mask. I've been slathering myself in conditioner and I bought the special color treated hair conditioner to use when I run out of the stuff that came with the bleach kits.

The redo looks fantastic...I would recommend you get some TIGI Oatmeal & Honey shampoo & conditioner....or Moisture Maniac..I would also recommend getting some After Party and Spoil Me, these are both great to make the flyaways settle ..the new color is very pretty

I used 2 different Preference kits because darker hair takes at least 2 steps to bleach light. Both were ash blonde. I used to just grab the lightest one and his time I didn't. I don't remember exactly sorry
p.s. I highly recommend a salon if you do it.

I love that brand! Is after party that bottle that looks like a pink dildo? I had that stuff a few years back. I need to go product shopping...

Thanks . It *does* go well with them (instead of competing like before).

I know you've already done it, and it looks wonderful (you actually used the same shade of red i did) but I did the same thing, and dyed over it with red
