It will be green with pink shutters. Her living room is also green and pink. She intends to repaint the finished basement pink. With a purple ceiling.

According to sil, the house is going to be a sage green w/ pink shutters.
Her living room is Emerald and Pepto.
The basement will be God-knows-what shades.

She has never been like this. She has never had this obsession with pink except in the last few years. Previously, her home decorating theme was "country."

Country is a more palatable style, imo, than this pink and green thing she's got going on.

Don't get me wrong - I like pink just fine! But I think there comes a time when one can go overboard.

And truthfully, in comparison to other events in her life, this pink/green obsession is rather innocuous. Just really... weird.

I think it sounds cool, but maybe I'd change my mind if I saw pictures.

I'm glad she's giving her house a fresh coat of paint.

I'm also very glad that she's not painting MY house!

Indeed! It's currently plain white w/ black shutters. A little color could do it some good.

Just not those colors.

There's nothing wrong with pink shutters... When I was a child there was a purple house in one town we always went through. It was a state landmark amoungst truckers.

It's lonely being the only XX in a house of XYs.

I hate country style. I loathe it, those geese with the bandannas and little bonnets, I hate them.

I wouldn't paint anything pink but I do plan on painting some of my house green, bright green though, not sage.

I love brightly painted houses. The painted ladies in San Francisco are ALL my dream houses.

Must.
Win.
Lottery.

But um, ya... the cutesy ducks can all, please, die. Along with the geese, pigs, and cows. Unless you actually live on a FARM, in which case it's ironic and you should run with it.

Finally pregnant with #1 and #2! Due September 9th, 2014

It really depends on the style of house IMO, if she has a Queen Anne for instance, that would be a perfectly appropriate paint choice. But like on a ranch....not so much.

LOL! they live in a split level (raised ranch) for the pink/green. I like sage, to be honest, but I really can't picture it w/ pink. Not well, anyway. It just hurts my mind's eye to imagine.

When she was into the country crap (the darn duck clock, farm barn plastic wall thing, Home Interior stuff) at least we LIVED IN THE COUNTRY!

I saw an episode of HGTV where someone had done their apartment like this- and it was awsome. Maybe she watched that eposide? The woman was a toy designer though, so she could pull it off- the stuff she had in her apartment pulled it all together. But yer mom......maybe not so much.

You know, my mom is actually really creative and very talented! I just don't know what she's thinking with this pink/green business... I mean, who paints their living room emerald and PEPTO? Yikes.

(I think she's since redone it, but I haven't seen it since we live several states apart.)

And then to spread all that love-of-pink-and-green to the entire house??? Maybe she's becoming eccentric in her "later" years?? (Although, for 51 she seems very young at heart. Her health ages her.)

Was she in Alpha Kappa Alpha or Delta Zeta sorority, by any chance? : :

Hey man, stranger things have happened....some of my old sorority sisters did their whole weddings in our sorority colors. :

Can you send her a digital camera for X-Mass ?

I'll try and get my bro & sil to get pics next time they're in the vicinity. (They're also a few states away, but at least they're on the same coast!)

She was never in a sorority, actually!

Finch, please tell me you didn't go pink & green at your wedding... please?

Lmao...hell no!! I was a Chi Omega, our colors are red and yellow.

No, I de-sistered after 2 years. We won't go into all that drama. However I have seen my fair share of aged sorority girls do stranger things, so painting their house the sorority colors wouldn't even make me blink.
