Often on movies or TV shows, women respond to offers or requests by saying : "I'd like that."

Does anyone really ever say "I'd like that"?

"Would you like to go for a walk?"
"I'd like that." :

"Wanna come up and see my etchings?"
"I'd like that." :

"Bud Lite?"
"I'd like that." :

I kinda do this only I usually end up choking on my hair because I accidentally breathe in instead of blow out........ I also, for some reason, often nearly drown myself while drinking because I forget to breathe through my nose and breathe through my mouth........ DH worries about me.

Not women, but DS and BF often answer with "I'd like that."

LOL the etchings line. I haven't heard that used in years. And usually by people a generation in front of me, lol.

No. I'm more of a "Sounds keen!" kinda gal. But I've always been accused of talking like a nutcase.

Yeah, I've been known to say that. But then again I can be a pompous English teacher at times, lol. So nevermind!

Hmm, I'm a bit concerned myself.

Are we talking in a dating sort of sense? Because I can't remember! Now a days, I usually just smile and say, "sounds like fun." or "are you kidding me. I've been chasing your children around all day and you want to do WHAT? Now get the kids to bed and we'll talk about it."

Yes, I say it.

Every baptized Christian is, or should be, someone with an actual (disturbing) experience, ... a close encounter, with God; someone who, as a result, becomes a disturbing presence to others. - Fr. Anthony J. Gittins, A Presence That Disturbs

I've said stuff like that, I think. I hit a point a log while ago when I realised I never actually displayed any enthusiasm about plans and actively decided to change it. So I tried to eliminate non-commital grunts and "oh... uh, okay, I guess..." from my vocab. So yeah, "Hey Kama, want to run to the corner store with me?" "That'd be great!"

Nope.

When DH offers something I want, I respond with, "Well, what are you waiting for? HURRY UP!"

Kidding.

I say it a lot. More when people ask me if I want to do something or if they can do something for me than if I'm offered something.

Body, I've been more than patient. Please make a baby. Please?

Sure, and as I'm walking away I lazily trail my silk scarf behind me, eventually dropping it and tossing my cascading hair behind my shoulder as I turn my head to wink.

Oh wait. I cut my hair short immediately after ds was born and the cat unraveled my scarf.

I guess I don't.

Heh. No. My responses would more likely be:

"Would you like to go for a walk?"
"A walk? You're kidding, right?"

"Wanna come up and see my etchings?"
"Sure, let me just wipe this baby puke off my shirt first. Oh, wait. You better bring 'em downstairs. My two little ones don't do stairs too well."

"Bud Lite?"
"Nah, my nursling will be awake for another couple hours."

I usually say, Yes please. Or that sounds good. On occasion an "I"d like that" may slip out.

It's lonely being the only XX in a house of XYs.

Yes, I do. Sometimes, I say "I'd like that." Sometimes, I say "No, thank you." Sometimes, I say "Yes, thanks." Sometimes, I say "Sure." Sometimes, I say "Hell, no." Sometimes, I say "Well, why not." Sometimes, I say "No, errrr, well, uhh, ok." I say lots of things.

i DO say "I'd like that"!! When my sister calls to ask if I want to get lunch I ponder for a moment and say, "yeah...I'd like that!" or when my 3 yo asks if i want a kiss.

I'm weird, I guess.

It strikes me as a little odd. . . so obviously I never say it!

I'm prone to going with, "Sure, that would be great" but more because it's habit than because I think it's a stellar response.

Six kids, sixth sense, six degrees of separation. . . from sanity!
Not sure that I'm crunchy, but definitely a "tough chew".
