The psychologist at work called me into her office today to say she had something to show me. She opens up her Exceptional Learning textbook & says "i thought this girl looked like you."

ummmm, 'cause it IS me! : It's a picture of me & a boy i worked with 10 years ago. No names used. I have NO idea if i ever signed anything at that job or, i don't know, EVER, as a release. I'm a little weirded out by it. I mean, it's kinda neat that my image is being used as an example of an aspect of my profession- but freaky at the same time!

I wonder what else is out there.......:

As long as it's being used in a nice way and not "this is what XXX looks like - look out!" You're right though, it would be interesting to know what else is out there!

Yes, I can totally understand why you would be freaked out. After all-how many people have looked at your picture and thought-"Wow,that's one mighty fine looking woman"

But on the other hand-I would take it as a compliment. You are a good example of the members of your profession.

I would get a photocopy and stick it away in the safety deposit box for your kids.
Neat!

Wow. Weird. How old is this textbook? Was it printed around the time of that pic or more recent?

My mom found her head on a body modeling "ski wear" in a business ad once in a phone book. I guess she had done some modeling a few years before and now people were just taking her head and sticking it on things!

A photo of my husband snowboarding made it onto the cover of a video game box. We tried to take it to court but ended up too much trouble.

There's a picture of me in a children's lit textbook. When my professor was writing it, she made a big deal our of using our pictures in it--there's no way we would have not known! That's weird that you were totally surprised by it.

: i'm very sure that's what they're all thinking too! i think i do take it as a compliment. it's also a nice pic of the student using his communication device and me working with him. i took a copy of it today- i should've copied the cover too!

i think the book is recent- she's in school now. i know when editions are updated, they change outdated info but not necessarily pictures. maybe i'm in subsequent editions?
