I'm in shock. I posted elsewhere that she was my first impression of MDC and she made me want to stay. She was writing about her Havoc and how commands in English are fine, but when she said something in German he knew to just fall out of the sky. My GSD is the same way. I only knew her from the pets forum where she was invaluable.

Condolences to her family.

Shannon and Gossamer were two that helped me when I was dealing with pre-e. Shannon's Molly is only a bit older than my guy. My heart goes out to her family, what a devastating loss.

I am shocked and in tears here

Shannon was such a special person and will be greatly missed. We were preg with our last babies at the same time and were again. The world is a bit darker without her

Havoc and Bedlam, stick around a bit and comfort your people, they need you

I was blessed with the chance to meet Shannon. She was a wonderful, lovely woman. Kind and funny, and a very selfless person. She was passionate about life, her family, her dogs, and helping others. This world is a sadder one without her.

Rest in peace, dear Shannon.
I was looking to find you to see if you had seen this. It's so shocking. I have been in a bit of a daze since I read this earlier today.

Shannon was truly special. She just had a certain spark. Hard to define but she just really passionate and likeable.

I am just so sad for her family

I'm shocked too. I knew her from a different website, from a while back. I haven't been back to it in over a year. But, her advice on dogs, and choosing the right one for me at the right time was invaluable. It's hard for me to believe she's gone.

I am so shocked. I was just telling another mama on Sunday about Shannon and how we comforted one another via phone back on Mother's Day of 04 as she grieved her grandma and her miscarriages and me, my firstborn. Shortly after that she was pregnant with Molly and I knit a soaker for Molly when she was born. Shannon had requested that I embroider "Good Golly, Miss Molly!" on the butt of the soaker, but my skills weren't that great at the time. When my ds was born, she was cheering along for me and I will always remember our connection through our losses.

Wishing Shannon and her family love, peace and light.

I read this earlier when I was getting the munchkins ready for bed. All the blood literally fell out of my face, it was such a shock. Shannon was such a witty, funny, smart lady. She will be very missed.

I'm still just so shocked. It hurts inside. I only knew Shannon on the Pets forum, where she was the resident expert. I remember her posting once that I was her favorite 'convert'. I first came to the Pets forum talking up Science Diet (which is all I learned about in vet tech school), and she challenged me to think differently about animal nutrition. Eventually I even got to the point I was feeding my dog whole rabbits and my cats whole rats. I think I made her proud. She had to put me in my place once or twice when I'd start talking about something I didn't quite understand, but I was cocky because I was a vet tech student and I learned things a certain way in school, but Shannon had many, many years hands-on experience as a vet tech and knew better than me.

I'm so sad for her family. Little Molly and little Isla won't have her to lean on. Poor Steve losing his partner. And Havoc and Bedlam have lost their master. It's just too much.

Tis the season, for hot apple cider!
