Keep on reporting the law breaking, and the kharma from that creature's harassment of you will be the company losing its license to operate. Seems fair to me...

Lots of hugs to you. I'm sorry this UA violation is harassing you, definitely report her. You don't deserve to be treated this way. Take care of you and your kids, some day you will feel better and this UAV will still be a bitter woman.

I think you should post the company's name and her name and their address on to this website ... nay, this very thread ... and allow some of us to ... um ... contact them as well.

Please?

That is shocking and completely unacceptable that she spoke to you in such a manner. What a heartless creature she is. If any of my colleagues spoke to customers like that on the phone, we would be sacked on the spot, and escorted from the building.

Just because someone works in debt collections, they are still bound by policy/procedure and law. And should be acting in accordance with those.

I'm so sorry that she spoke to you in such an awful manner

Peace

I am so sorry that evil woman is treating you badly. I hope the police do slap her with a restraining order, or at the very least convince her that it would be a VERY poor idea to try contacting you again.

I'm no collections expert, but my feeling is the company probably wants the employees to hound people, but they have to give the appearance of not endorsing going past what the law allows. So I feel like the supervisor realized you aren't stupid and will take action and is doing this to prevent that and while he may actually be appalled at what Mrs. L said to you even, he is probably not upset about her calling several times a day, etc.

Just my gut, I would report anyway I think.

I'm glad at least you got some response though and they have said they will leave you alone.

I am so sorry this happened.

eta..just realised you are in Canada...they can only call you once a day and it's "recommended" no more than once a week.

so yeah, report it

A week for them to decide what action to be taken?

That is slow. If any of my colleagues had said something like that to a customer on the phone, the day of the complaint, the recorded call would have been listened to and they would have been sacked on the spot. No excuses.

I've been a little shocked at some of the posts about 'collectors' here, from what I can gather the experiences appear to be predominantly negative. Which is shame.

Maybe it depends upon the product and the company, I don't know. I work for a Bank, and while the aim of collections is collections, our policies and procedures dictate that we follow guidelines to help the customer when they are struggling with their debt.

Peace

[QUOTE=~Mamaterra~;10542678]So a bit of an update...

My dh finally got ahold of Mrs. L.'s supervisor this morning and told him what had happened. The supervisor stammered and sputtered...he couldn't get out an apology fast enough and an assurance that "Mrs. L. will never, ever, ever, ever be phoning you or your wife again."

He told my dh that he is personally taking my file and that we can take as long as we need to pay the bill. He also asked my dh to call back in a week and he will have an update as to the "action" taken against Mrs. L.

Now my question is should I still report Mrs. L for her repeated calls yesterday to either the provincial agency or the RCMP or both or should I accept what her supervisor said and leave it at that. She also called again this morning at 8:30 am.[/QUOTE

You Should Still Report Her!!!!!!!!!!

He was probably giving you lip service and is actually going to promote her (in the very least, not fire her). File an official report and follow it all the way through.

I'd still report these past calls, but also let them know your DH spoke with the manager and what was discussed (did Mrs. L call before or after your DH talked with him?). And if she calls again, keep reporting her. Keep track of the time and dates she's calling you, too, if you aren't already.

If you start getting strange phone calls - not from that company number - but perhaps from private or blocked numbers, it could be her harassing you. Truly, I wouldn't put it past her to take to harassing you in her personal time - especially if she gets reprimanded, she just seems like that type of person. Hopefully I'm wrong, and you won't have any more troubles with her. I just want you to be prepared, just in case, ykwim?

How are you feeling today? Any better? : : Does that help?!

Nothing says I love you like a report to the regulators. Nothing makes people more cooperative than having their company on report.

While that was probably before your husband got through, That action right there by her tells me that she needs to be filed against independently of whatever the company does.

I would still report it!! You are probably not the only one she verbally abused & if the company is so blind they can't see that level of harassment taking place, they need to be repremanded. After all it will come down on the company, not just her.

You work for the actual lender who has hopes of the people in question working with the company again and recommending it to their friends.

The collection agents that cause the horror stories are generally working for third party companies that make their profit off percentages of the repaid debt.

I say still report her, even though her phone call this morning may have been before your DH had a chance to speak with her supervisor.

from here on out.
yes that.
what a jerk she was. i'm sorry.

I'm so sorry. That really sucks.

DEFINATELY YES REPORT HER!! Otherwise, she'll keep doing it and the company may not truly take it seriously. Report her and there will be a record of it, in case, deity forbid, it happens agin.

Hugs to you!
