:

I had been on the MDC for a long time, seeing this little smiley around in various threads.

It always confused me. It seemed inappropriate, as I saw it most often in places where people needed support and encouragement.

"What does this little guy singing into his microphone have to do with being supportive?" I would wonder.

Then one day I was perusing the entire spectrum of available smileys and I saw that this one was coded as "1praying."

Oh.

Now I see it.

Months, I tell you. Months before I figured this one out.

Well, I tried to guess before I hovered over the little face to see what it really was...and my guess was the smiley was covering it's mouth, as if snickering behind it's hand...

Now that I know what it's doing, I can see it...sort of...

I can also see the "shaking fist" aspect, too.

Knowing what I know about the "family friendly" ideals of the MDC, I certainly never actually thought that he was not sucking on his thumb...although, I can see how one might make that assumption.

Hey Smokering...

Totally OT, but I just had to tell you that every time I see your name on the boards, in my head I call you "Smoker-ing," even though I know it's "Smoke-ring."

Uh, it's totally "smoker-ing" in my head. Now that I know, I am not sure I'll be able to reprogram.

I knew that guy was praying but he always seemed like a very chatty/not very solem prayer to me. I can piture the diety(ies) to whom he's praying rolling their eyes and being all "here we go again. Smiley wants a new hat or something."

I'm a morning person.  We actually do exist.
