Della- after the secretary on Perry Mason. I should be waaaaay to young for that (25).

Also Ava or Grace after Ava Gardner or Grace Kelly- I thought I'd name my little girl that one day but now those names are just too popular.

Cynthia. One of my best friends growing up was Cynthia. She was Columbian and I just loved how her mom said her name - "Seeeentia".

Oh, and up until I got to high school I swore I would name my first girl Heaven Leigh, a la Flowers in the Attic. LOL!

I always named my favorite toy of the moment Andrew Jade... be them (androgenous) a horse, a doll or a lego figurine. Which I shortened to "Drew" or "Jade" b'c I liked having an option.

And changed the spelling of my name on all of my school papers, until the teacher (second grade) gave me all failing grades & told my mom that she didn't have a student named "Traesi"... so, I gave it up. As an adult, I think the teacher tried to squelch my imagination & that she sux for that!

I liked my name but wished that it started with a 'J' instead of a 'G'. People just don't seem to get the 'soft G' thing, especially supply teachers in elementary school. Of coarse, that started people calling me Gilligan. I hated it. Now, I'm happy with the spelling and couldn't imagine it with a 'J'.

BTW, Camera is a real name, I have a SIL named that.

It was hilarious. She had a couple dolls all named Fruity Sam for a while. Then at one of her birthday parties (3 or 4 I can't remember) she got a different doll. I asked "Is this one Fruity Sam too?" and she said "No." then she held the doll up over her head and announced in this really deep voice "You are The Creator!!" She is one crazy kiddo.

Courtney and Cree, baby made 3, added one more then there were 4, sakes alive, then we had 5, another in the mix now we have 6!

that reminds me of how my dd named her stuffed meerkat "get the meerkat" so when we were at disney (where we bought it) we would have to say "Jewely get, Get The Meerkat." she thought it was hilarious...............Her super hero name is Master Girl. She came up with it when she was an early 4.

HEY!! Me too! No one could ever say my name right (I even had a teacher call me Julian for half the year) and so I was Gilligan and the Skipper too...

I wanted to be a Lisa. I thought that if I had a pretty, popular, normal name that I would be too.

Christine. I saw Phantom of the Opera and loved the name.

I thought Megan was too common but liked Christine.

Mom of a 7 yr old, 4 yr old, and 1 yr old. Wow. How did that happen?

i had what i felt was the best nick name ever in kindergarten it was nene (nay nay) and then my first grade teacher refused to let me go by my nickname! after that i went by my legal name which i never liked but never thought of a name i liked more except for nene. then when i graduated from high school i changed my name to a name i love and a name i go by now. bug. a lot of people don't like my name and my dp has suggested when i don't feel like dealing with people getting confused i should just tell them my parents where hippies and let them assume that's why i am named bug. it isn't a lie my parents where hippies.

mama to two amazing children son 10/27/07 and daughter 07/07/11

In 1977, when I was six, I insisted that everyone call me Karen.

It lasted for a few months, & then I changed the spelling of my very ordinary name many times in primary school. When I was about 13, I went back to the original spelling, & it has been the same ever since.

Aussiemumhippie.gif (40), DH caffix.gif (39), DD reading.gif (13), & DS 2whistle.gif(11).

I always liked my name, even though, when I was a child, I didn't know anyone with the same name. I know some kids whose names are somewhat unusual go through a phase in which they long for a "normal" name, but I never did.

(No, Verity isn't my real name.)

When I was a young teen and wrote stories, my alter ego's name was Caroline (the last part pronounced like the word "line," I don't like it with a short i sound.)

Right author. Wrong series.
FitA was Christopher, Catherine, Cory, and ... the other twin's name escapes me. "Heaven" was a different series.
