that I am far too mature and sophisticated to have required a designated driver to drive me home last night from the beach while I puked out the window the entire time.

What is strange is that I drink tequila in margaritas all the time with no problem, but a shot just destroys me.

There are worst-post tequila experiences than vomiting. Exhibit A: the boyfriend I dated for a couple of months in 1995...

My worst tequila night was about 7 years ago. A "friend" and I were doing shots - I think there may have been some kind of bet involved that I couldn't handle as many as he could. About 6 shots into the game, the bartender pulled me aside and finally told me that my "friend" was taking a shot of TEA for each of my shots of tequila. Jerk.
This same guy, who happened to own the bar & grill we were at that night - the same bar that I bartended at for awhile - was later arrested b/c he had a video camera installed in the women's restroom and a sizeable collection of tapes at home.

I don't do tequila anymore.

Mama to DS (12/11/07) and partner to DH (08/08). Expecting #2 late November 2011!

My last significant encounter with tequila caused more than a 2 day hangover.

Let's put it this way: DS's middle name should have *been* tequila.

Yes, tequila makes my clothes fall off.

Ack - tequilla slammers at 16...fastforward through my 20s and I still couldn't even smell that foul mistress without feeling ill. Took me until 35 to be able to have a margarita again!!

Feel better. Drink coconut water to hydrate!

Tequila one, falling off the hood of a parked truck. Friends picked gravel out of my head all night. I think I was 18?

Tequila two, thrown out of a bar for being too drunk. Seriously, you sell people $1 tequila sunrises and then toss them for being too drunk? Rude. Threw up for 2 full days. 21.

Tequila 3, Cinco De Mayo party. Went to bed drunk, woke up at 2am dumped a full garbage can on the floor in my bathroom so I could puke in it. Woke up at 7am still drunk. 35.

Perhaps I've finally learned my lesson. But probably not, I have a new friend who is a bad influence.

Yes, always ask what the shot is. I learned that lesson the hard way a few years ago during mu going away party and 3 day hangover that followed. I also learned the "never mix different shots" lesson during that same party. It was quite the learning experience

Boring!

I used to go to a bar that made insanely strong Long Island Iced Teas, but I can't stand that sweet crap that goes into it, in fact I don't like sweet drinks at all. So I would have them make me an Iced Tea with no sweet and sour or whatever, and just the teeniest tiniest splash (I mean it- hold the gun over the glass and barely press the trigger then stop) of Coke. It was basically a really big mixed shot

And I always did fine with tequila. My bf back then, though, would get really goofy if he had any. One night at my house, he disappeared around midnight. It was really, really dark, no streetlights, and I lived on 10 acres surrounded by miles of dirt paths through orange groves. My friends and I searched everywhere, and finally I was walking into my house and heard a strange noise from under the bush right next to my back door. It was my bf, growling at my dog. They were both curled up under the bush and Sampson was looking at me like "help, this person is really weird"

The brings back memories of the party we had the night before DH and I got married. I had a 4 pack of wine coolers, 19 shots of tequila (yes, really) and various sips off other people's concoctions....we had a wood stove for heat and I was dancing around being a loon and tripped into it. Got married with 2nd degree burns on my arm and I had a sleeveless dress Tequila and I will never be so friendly again
