I called to have a plumber install a water softener because we have very hard water. He asked if we considered a whole house water filter instead. Any thought or suggestions? I am not familiar with a whole house water filter.

I'm pretty sure it won't solve all your health problems as it claims, but the water tastes good and we haven't had hard water stains all over everything since we had it installed. And we don't have to add any gd salt or potassium crystals to it every week.
