For frostbite.....yup frostbite : yes, in June....yes, outside.....yes, in 80* heat.

It's kinda funny but it is actually quite serious too.
It was the end of year school party at school and somehow I ended up scooping out water ice for the kindergarteners, but there was no scoop. So, I had to use a plastic spoon and holding it at the bottom so it wouldn't break my fingers were pretty much submerged in ice for a half hour or so.
When I took them out they immediately burned and later I noticed the tip of my thumb was turning purple and was hard and had no feeling but a burning sensation. The even later I noticed my index finger started to swell and blister very badly. So 8:00 last night I headed to the ER.
I have 2nd degree burns on my index finger where the blisters are and 3rd degree burn on the tip of my thumb!

Go figure, frostbite in June at the beach! Only me!

Mama to Zoe (8/00), Morgan : (10/01), Brooke9/06), Casey 20wks (2/08), and Riley : (2/09): She's really here!!

Wow. Now that's dedication to the job I'd say! HOpe your fingers recover fully and quickly.

I knew you were local from this statement-only out here is end of the year water ice (and soft pretzels) a given.

Feel better soon. Will the PTA be sued now? :
