Mine were Ella and Anna.

I found out I was pregnant a few days before my grandmother (Ella) died last summer. I and told her that if the baby was a girl, I was going to name her after both my grandmothers; I don't know if she heard me, she never woke up. I miss her. She was awesome, and made the best chocolate chip cookies ever.

Dorothy (maternal) and Margaret (paternal). I can't remember exactly what year either was born, but Dorothy would be about...91, I think, if she were still alive, and Margaret is also somewhere in her early 90s, I believe.

Mine are Daisie (born 1930) and Lavina (born 1937). Dh's are Inez and Marjorie (who has passed on).

I might add one of my great-grandmothers..Lida is still living. She is 101.

Happily married to DH for 6 years, in process to foster-adopt 3 children DD4, DS3 and DS2. We may be bringing half brother age 9 one day as well! We are not infertile, we just have decided that since there are precious children who need homes there is no need for us to have biological children.

Mary, and I honestly cannot think of my other grandmother's first name at the moment. She died when I was very small and I'm just drawing a blank right now. :

My 'step-grandma' was Opal.

My grandma's names were Amy, my father's mother, and Jane, my mother's mother. Jane later changed her name to Janet.
This thread makes me sad because I just realized that I have no idea what my dh's grandparent's names were. My dh is the only child of older parents, and his grandparents died when he was very young. I wonder if he even knows.

Dorothea Marion :

Marilyn Dorothea :

(similar sounding huh?)

Both had the same last and first initial. It must have been a fad of the 20's to use alliteration in baby names.
