A Wallah is an Indian guy who does stuff. Laundry wallah, grocery wallah, etc, etc

Voila is a french word meaning, roughly, "there it is".

In a sentence:

The laundry wallah did such a good job I sent all my most stained clothes in next time.

She pulled the sheet from the finished painting and said "Voila! Your portrait is finished!"

Thank you.

LOL. Whenever I see Viola's screen name, I contimplate in my mind weather to say Viola, or Voila. Simply because sometimes she has awesome posts, and Voila would be quite fitting.

As a person who says "wa-wa" for water (in public I might add!)

We say wallah! It's the south and it's America, not Italy.

Wow, I hope that's sarcasm! Voilà is French Most people who don't wish to sound ignorant by mispronouncing words used in another language give a rat's patootey.

Also, this isn't America, it's a website on the internet. I'm reading this from Canada where many people speak French as their first language. There are moms who read MDC around the world.

awww...

I think she meant that she was in the south (where they say wallah!) ... not that we all are in the south.

One of the great things about the english language is that it is so... adaptable. I figure that as long as everyone understands what you mean, you are doing a good job at communicating.

My mom wouldn't let us say "couldn't care less" when we were little. she thought it was too negative. so we'd say "I COULDn't care less." Then we'd thump each other on the shoulder. Ah, good times.

Thank you.
No, thank you! Dh and I have started jokingly saying "wallah" for "voila". I had no idea people said such things before online communities came around.
