I don't know why people still eat there, but I'm sure glad they do. My MCD shares have already doubled, not including dividends! :

I dont think my kids even know they carry anything besides ice cream. HAHA

Oh wait, I take that back...on vacation we get their pancake breakfasts cause its fast, cheap, and hot.

I'm late on this thread, but oh well. DP and I take the girls 3-4 times a year. We don't like the food that much. Too greasy, no veggies, I need me some (lots) veggies. But the girls get excited about getting a toy with their meal, and it is the one place that we can have a meal, let our girls run around on the play place with minimal worries about parental direction of their behavior. That is heaven. We have high expectations about public behavior so being able to go to a place that they can eat a meal and be kids is priceless for ALL of us.

1. It's the only restaurant we have in our town
2. They have a playland which sometimes is a really great way to let the kids burn off some energy when it's too cold/hot to play outside
3. Because I was pregnant and I just HAD to have some chicken fingers!
4. Because we didn't have a stove or a fridge the first week we lived here and that was the only restaurant (no grocery store here)
5. Because ds likes it and sometimes I like to treat him
6. I go there for a iced coffee sometimes. The food is absolutely barfy though.

I don't eat there....but I do take ds there in the winter and buy him a milk and me a coffee and let him play in the playroom. There is not a lot of things you can do with a 3 yr old who needs to burn off energy and its -40 F outside.

I am late on this thread too but I really like their sugar free iced coffee!

And egg McMuffins hold a special place in my heart!

A few years ago a McD's we visited on the west coast had a veggie burger and my vegetarian husband was thrilled. But alas, the McD's here in TX have no veggie burger.
There regular beef burgers always give me the runs! Must be all the grease!

I love their pancakes and sausage. I haven't had that in years.

There's always Chic-fil-A. It's much healthier.

I'm really not looking for a fight

but I don't really understand your point.

Yes, beef has to come from somewhere, but that doesn't mean that it comes from the same place that McDonald's gets beef.

Also, the fact that they serve beef isn't the only reason not to eat there

The article you referred to is kind of old news anyway. I'm not looking to start an argument either, but I guess I didn't get your point either. Plus, look at the bad language used on the links you provided and all the typo's make my head spin. The thing is, if people don't want to support McD's then don't. I have things I support and things I do not support. If I didn't support Mcd's then I'd stay away completely. They wouldn't even get money from me for a dessert or an iced tea.

I know, the typos don't say a lot for that guys credibility

Although those articles are old, McDonald's hasn't changed their practices, just their wording :

Oh...the McRib. It's a rib meat (I'm assuming it's actually rib meat) sandwich, but the kicker is that there are no ribs in it, it's simply a sandwich shaped to LOOK like a rack of ribs, like ribs are in there. Just typing this makes me a little queasy--I don't mind fast food in general, but shaping something to look like something it's not is taking things a little far, I think.
