I seem to get short of breath really easily, actually ever since like 9 weeks or so. I used to be able to run up the 5 flights to my apartment and yeah, I'd be panting but now I'm huffing and puffing as I walk up slowly. Dr Google seems to say it's normal, but wow! Somehow I thought that would only happen later. Anybody else?

Me!  I always take stairs instead of elevators, just something I do.  Yesterday at the Drs, I just went for the stairs like always, and by the 3rd flight I was struggling!! And I had 3 more flights to go!  LOL!

Yup! I lost my mind yesterday (because I have Energy! Anyone remember what that was? It's neat!) and dashed around the building and up the stairs at work yesterday to get charts. Not panting, but certainly not feeling as well-oxygenated as I ought to! I walked back down :P

It started happening to me right after my BFP!  Evidently, it's a combo of increased blood volume (heart working harder) and progesterone, which increases your lung capacity.  I have a hard time walking and talking at the same time.  :)

Ha! Me too!  At first I was like, oh man, I'm really out of shape! Then I remembered the blood volume thing and felt much better.

Mine started really early too, Marine.  But I noticed it's gotten much worse in the last couple of weeks.  Today was especially hard walking up the steps to the office this morning.  I thought the same thing about being so out of shape -- then remembered the blood volume thing.  :)  Phew!

Hahaha, me too!! It feels so silly, as if I can't coordinate or something. Hehe.

ETA: Becky, energy, what's that? wink1.gif lucky you! I'm sleeping like 10 hours a night and still tired.

I, too, am glad to see this thread!  I went from doing spinning classes to walking and yoga once I got pregnant, I worried I was just losing my cardio fitness.

It's startling to recall! I think it helps that this will be my first baby, but I'm quite cheerfully alive again now. :D

Shortness of breath was one of my first symptoms with each pregnancy - it only gets worse!  UGH!

Yeah, I was concerned I might have heart failure or something going on- forget going up stairs, walking from my living room to my bathroom and I'm out of breath!

I got it pretty early too, starting a few weeks ago (I am 15w now). I am amazed at how many symptoms I am experiencing that I thought would only come later in the third trimester! In addition to shortness of breath, I am also feeling a lot of discomfort in my pelvic floor and lots of round ligament pain, and I'm not even that big yet. I also recently started getting lower back pain anytime I am moving around for more than 15 min. without resting. It's all very frustrating, because I am usually super energetic and used to moving around a lot. I have a hard time remembering to pace myself when I am going about my daily business.
