I just noticed this bruise forming above my belly button today. I don't recall bumping into anything that would cause a bruise, so I'm not sure where it is coming from. The baby has been moving around like normal, so I'm pretty sure she's ok, but is this some sign that something is wrong? Or did I just bump into something and forget about it? Has anybody else had this?bruise.JPG

My belly button is surrounded by a blueish/darkish color too. I don't think mine is a bruise... maybe just a bunch of blood vessels around there?

I think my sis had a bruise like that, but closer to her ribs, when she was pregnant, and I seem to remember I had some weird bruises when I was pregnant with DS, they looked funky, b/c they were bruising from the inside! It was like seeing the under side of a bruise -- where the baby had repeatedly kicked, punched or stretched. My current Midwife just recommended arnica when I feel the bruising coming on, and I haven't SEEN any of them externally this time. I've been using the arnica gel :)

If everything else seems normal, then I don't think it's worth extra worrying :)

Mine is dark too. I think it's mostly veins, and maybe some capillaries that are breaking from the stretching.

I've got a stretch mark on my belly button. But that's definitely more pink than blue-ish.

I have noticed I bruise easier than normal. But other than that don't have much that'll help you.

It is definitely very blue, looks like broken blood vessels and blood pooling. I have realized since posting this that I do infact bump this exact part of my belly on the desk, counter and sink a lot throughout the day, so I bet that has something to do with it!

I went to open the fridge today and hit myself in the belly. Go figure, huh?

Had an appt. with the midwives today and she said it's probably just spider vains from vessels bursting due to stretching skin, nothing to worry about :)

Glad it's nothing serious! Lately I've been accidentally turning on the gas on our stove with my belly when I'm using the microwave. I never notice until I can smell the gas =/

Completely unrelated, but when it comes to our oven I have complete prego brain. I've turned on the wrong burner so many times in the last couple weeks I've caught two towels on fire and shattered an empty wine bottle. :/ I made myself a big sign that says watch out and taped it to the wall above the knobs. lol

My DH did that a week or so ago. (The only time he's been in the kitchen since we've been together.) Thankfully no fires, but he had an empty pot on it and threw it in the sink while still skalding.duh.gif
