Two Quick Questions:

When does eye color usually change?

And, do you clip baby's finger nails? If so, how?

I kinda wanna bite them right off myself, I am so scared of the clippers! I would just let them grow but she kneads my boobs like a kitty and those nails, HURT!

Thanks Mamas! :D

Not sure about the eyes but for nails I use a buffer block.  When he's chill in the swing or just hanging out, I gently buff them down with the block.  You could use a nail file or emery board as well.

I use clippers when he is sleeping. It takes some getting used to, but not as scary as you'd think.

Oh, and for eyes, I've heard that if they're brown at birth they'll stay that way. Anything else will settle in by 9-12 months.

My ds1 is 27mo and his still change from blue to green constantly.

I swear that River was born with adamantium claws, so I've been clipping from day one.  I use rounded cuticle scissors and they work pretty well. I'll have to try buffing them, it might be easier.

I have always bitten my kids nails - i was scared of the clippers too!  I think its easier to bite them off - especially if they are prone to squirming!  Blue eyes typically turn brown by 12 months - but there is no hard and fast rule.

Oh, buffing them, hmmm, good idea, Thanks!

And, my goodness, I was thinking all babies were born with blue eyes and they changed by six months. I have no idea why I thought that honestly. Should have read less birth stories and more about parenting books while still pregnant, my goodness!! Haha.

Thanks!

I use a nail file to keep her nails short. My friend and her DH bite their baby's nails, I think it is a perfectly reasonable way to go :) I tried it and for some reason it just didn't work for me, so I am sticking to the file for now.

A nail file doesn't work with Liam, but I pull back on his finger tip to separate the nail from the skin so I don't clip him. I do it when he's eating or sleeping so he doesn't squirm too much.

I use adult nail clipper and do it while they are sleeping. I hate the baby ones, they have the built in safety thing so yo don't clip them and they never work well for me.

Eye color is generally settled around 12 month but can still change.

I clip Charlie's every day. The boy is part cat.

The first time I did it, I cut him and he screamed and painted me with blood. I licked it clean and put some nipple cream on it and it was fine. Haven't cut him since! I tried filing but it didn't work and I wouldn't bite them myself. Too easy to tear and rip.

I've been using nail scissors I bought at babies r us, and I like them much, much better than the clippers. I do it when he's asleep and its easy. I've also been using them on my squirmy 2.5 year old, and they work well with her, too.
