Sucks!!!
I am 3.5 days post partum and milk started coming in fast and furious about 24 hours after birth. I am mostly just whining about it. I have a great nursling who is doing really well, I just think I make enough milk for quadruplets!

Things are much better now. I just had to whine about it. I always have trouble no matter what I do with huge swollen boobs. It hurts to breathe when it peaks. Anyway, thanks for letting me post a vent. smile.gif

I have had very little engorgement this time, thankfully.  I had massive oversupply with the other kids.  Hot wet washcloths felt awesome, as did hot showers.  I used to have to pump a bit to relieve some pressure (but not too much or it just makes the oversupply worse!)  Ibuprofen also helps!

I had rock hard porn star boobs for 2 weeks.  I'm finally starting to regulate.  Ahhhh!   Engorgement really hurts!  Hubby likes it though.  LOL

Today, things are finally starting to soften when he nurses. Still not great and latching is painful since my nipples are still hard and full and I have one that will hurt for the next couple weeks if it is like the last two times. My husband would like the big boobs, but he isn't allowed to even look at them since that hurts... :)

I am so lucky to have the best defense against engorgement: bftoddler.gif He will see me nursing  DS2 with a prefold catching the overflowing other breast and will say, "Don't worry mama. I will save the milk." And, latches on lol.gif.

I have a clogged duct in one breast, I keep nursing, pumping, hot wash cloths, hot showers, etc... but I can't get rid of it! So far it hasn't developed into an infection, but I'm worried it will.

cparkly, that is so cute!

CamilleBethany, one of the tricks for unclogging a duct is to point the baby's chin towards the duct. There's no real evidence or scientific proof that it works, but it does! I haven't had any this time yet, but I used to get them all the time when I was nursing my son. That always worked for me, though it is pretty awkward if the clogged duct is on the top of your breast! lol.gif

That is what I have always heard and done. I try to massage the area too while nursing which hurts but seems to help. I hope it clears up for you soon!!
