This is so helpful.  Thanks for putting it together.

Can you explain the pre-eclampsia standards question?  Is that something where there's controversy?  I don't really know anything about it.

I'm not 100% sure.  A midwife in a natural childbirth group made this list up for us seeking a MW.  I do know that it has something to do with too many doctor's or MW's declaring pre-e for borderline cases when simple dietary changes could be made and resolve those issues.  I'll go back and ask and get a more eloquent and knowledgeable response since I myself was wondering and don't know much about pre-e personally.

thanks so much for posting this. even though this will be baby #3 (and we're planning for HB#2 and mw attended birth #3) this will be helpful. Its a lot of questions so I might cut it down a little, but also just good for guiding discussion. at this point I've only managed to make one appointment from the 4 MWs I've contacted! HB MWs fill up fast here (so I hear). Maybe I'll love these ones and the search will be over right when it starts.

Thanks for posting this Amy Lynn. I used them last night and the midwives were very impressed :) (Not that that was the point but because I am obese I often get looked down on as uneducated and make a bad impression..so I was happy I seemed to make a good impression on them)
