So, I figured I would start a TMI (Too much info) thread..

It may seem a little redudant as pretty much anything pregnancy related seems to fall into the catogory but Im starting one anyway because I have a weird sense of humor and I love to share.

So for the past 3 or 4 weeks I have been having a serious issue with constipation, I know its normal but its also painful so this week I took some pills to un-constipate me.

Oh boy..I was laying on the couch with hubby when all of a sudden I got the urge, however we were watching a movie and I didnt want to get up yet so figuring it was like normal (constipation) and I could hold it I did and then I realized there was no holding it back so I jumped up and ran like mad to the bathroom, plopped down on the toilet and......well it can only be properly described as a 'poosplosion'...I mean hubby came to see what the noise was THATS HOW BAD IT WAS.

Yeah...we both were cracking up...I know Im nuts but it was so freaking funny.

Snowflower likes this.

I'm feeling your pain. I'm taking metamucil twice a day & still have had to resort to pills. It's awful.

Thank you for this! It made me laugh! I on the other hand cannot stop going number 2!!! I've already let a load out 3 times today....and I'm very gassy to the point my stomach makes strange noises and anyone I'm around is convinced I'm hungry and need to eat. Totally not the case...if anything I need to lay off the food!!

Glad it all came out smoothly ;)

I get such weird looks when I laugh at my pregnancy symptoms..I had been bitching at 8 weeks that I did not feel pregnant and had no real morning sickness...like two maybe three minutes later Im bent over the toilet heaving and cracking up because really, I did ask for it.

I had the constipation for probably six weeks - it SUCKED!  But now I've gone from only being able to go about every two or three days, to going three or four times per day.  But honestly, I'm so happy to just be able to go, I don't mind going so often!  I figure my intestines will get adjusted eventually... hopefully...

I'd much rather sit on the toilet than hug the damn thing. I have not been able to have a bowel movement in almost 5 days and my lower abdomen feels hard as cement. I can barely keep food or water down because of HG and I'm trying so hard to stay hydrated...I want so badly to be able to goooooo. This post is funny but god....it's so true and I just want to whine about how much life sucks right now lol.

I dunno, at least you arent having to do both...at the same time LOL

For about a week everytime I would push to poop I would end up puking..it was hilarious and gross at the same time.

Im weird, I would rather be constipated than have to make mad dashes to the toilet.

Have you ruled out the Iron in your prenatals? You're not taking Zofran are you? My digestive system has slowed down but nothing unbearable right now. I don't eat a lot of binding foods so maybe that has something to do with it. Both Prunes and Grapes are great if you need a little "help".

I see a few of these constipated threads around and wonder why more people don't ultilize enemas. So wonderful to soften things up naturally (water).  I utilized them in my first pregnancy but have been really comfortable doing them for the past decade or more in my life for the health benefits they give.  You really can not believe how much better you will feel! Promise.

Enemas and most laxatives are contraindicated in pregnancy because they can stimulate labor contractions.

I have to laugh because my hubby actually recommended that I try them and when I made a face and said "Hells to the know" he looked at me weird and goes "Why not? You let me stick other.....stuff up there"

Bwhahahahaha!

Im gross, I know but hey..its my thread and Ill say what I want.

Now how about a lovely morning sickness dream?

Im not sure if I was dry heaving because my dream was gross or if my dream was gross because I was dry heaving but the other night I was dreaming I was at work (Im a daycare/preschool teacher) and one of the kids got sick and puked on me and I  woke up  almost puking on myself so fun!

I was..."investigating" my nipples because hubs said he has been getting some boob juice during sexy times and BAM!! BOOB JUICE TO THE FACE!!!

Yeah...not cool.

COLOSTRUM!!!!

Oh my goodness.

This has been a highlight of humor in my pregnancy. I've been leaking for the last two months or so, at least, pretty copiously. About a month ago, my poor DH got a mouthful of colostrum during sexytime and has now sworn off nipple play (I'm hoping he likes breastmilk better than colostrum!). You should have seen his face... good lord, he was surprised. I got a kick out of it.

AND I squirted myself in the eye two days ago. Right in the eye. Owch.

I'm so glad someone brought this up. It's been one of the most hilarious elements of my pregnancy but I feel like most people wouldn't want to talk about it!

My husband and I were getting frisky a few weeks ago and he suddenly got the weirdest look on his face...and then really started going at my boobs, I was all "YOU JUST GOT SOME JUICE DIDNT YOU!!??"..he has been OBSESSED with the prospect of milk/colostrum...he is a titty man for sure.

Apparently mine is really sweet...I sure as heck am not going to try it so I guess I will take his word for it lol.

And ouch, the eye!?

LOL!

I have been constipated these last 2 weeks (since Baby engaged) and I have found that eating prunes has been a gentle, natural way to deal with it...

I'm just going to add this for the heck of it -- an apple a day, when I can remember to eat one, really seems to keep the constipation away ... and this from someone who often has it bad (and the hemorrhoids to prove it.) GL!

Now roids - that is a topic I dread -

the day after dd was born I went to emerg because of my roids - the Dr flinched - came back a while later with another doc and they said that I needed surgery - I was like yeah right - I have a 2 year old, my dd is a day old and you want me for day surgery...not gonna happen - so they never got fixed

....soooo freaking out knowing that they are coming - my butt turns inside out if I sit on the toilet to long - no mommy alone time to read

this baby had better push itself out like the last one did, because I am not doing it - I only pushed twice the last time and that was to birth the placenta - if two pushes does that to my arse I can guarentee that I will keep this baby and or placenta until at which time they manage to get out under their own steam!!!!!

I am taking magnesium supplements (to help prevent leg cramps) and they have a laxative effect. I am also taking iron (b/c of anemia) and am having some constipation for the first time in my life. How can I describe... its like I have both at once. Incredible sudden urge to go and then its hard to go. And, as DH calls it, I have the "poops of steel". Seriously. Have to scrub the toilet out way more than usual. I can't wait to stop taking iron that is for sure (I will cut back PP but don't want to quit entirely b/c I am concerned my own stores are low... have to talk with MWs about how that will affect my breastmilk, etc)

as for colostrum. that was a problem in my previous pregnancies but this time I am still nursing my little girl, so she seems to take care of that.

There is some brand of yogurt that regulates you pretty well, but I can't remember which. I've known people that it really helped in this situation! I've been constipated until a couple of weeks ago...I was standing in the kitchen and suddenly the baby was really low where I could barely walk. Ever since I have had no problem on the potty! (and this is my 4th pregnancy, I read babies don't usually drop so early in later pregnancies but it's been almost 9 years since #3 so maybe my body thinks I'm starting new?)
