Where is it? How many weeks are you?

I was playing around this morning and I think I found it, but it's right under my belly button. I'm 11w1d so that seems really high. Am I just feeling guts? (lol) Is it possible the fundus is still in the pelvis and i'm not feeling it? The thing i'm feeling is the only thing I can feel that feels like the hard, rounded ridge of the fundus.

No, but I carry my weight in my stomach and have a bad CS flap. I'm not expecting to be able to feel my fundus for months, if at all--last time, the OBs and midwives couldn't palpate me and had to do ultrasounds at every visit.

I think your fundus should probably be just above the pubic bone at this point, so you may well be feeling something else.

That's gotta be guts of some type. Even if you've got that second pregnancy thing going with a bigger uterus, it's going to be an inch or two above the pelvic bone.

I cam feel mine. If I felt down, like far down, I could feel it at 9 weeks. 10 weeks at the bone, at 12, I can easily feel it.

I thought I was feeling mine just below my belly button, and it had me half convinced I was further along than I thought I was (esp since my LMP was kind of light and strange).  But when I went to my first appt, they felt and said it was much lower.  I think I must be feeling some other organ way up there.

I don't really know how to feel it, I guess :)  I was just feeling around for anything, but got the wrong thing.

Lay down and rub/push your fingers down your stomach towards your pubic bone. The fundus will feel like a hard ridge (kinda like a hard water balloon). I've heard some women can find it standing up in the shower, but I've not been able to.

I have an appointment tomorrow so I'll have to ask if he can show me where the fundus is :)

That is where mine is and has been (generally speaking) since 11 weeks. I think mine is pushed forward naturally and I can feel it pretty early. Its not quite to my belly button yet, but has been hovering around that area.Granted, this is pregnancy no 8 (hopefully will be my 6th baby) so my body kinda instantly goes into "show the world you are pregnant mode!" , orngtongue.gif I can't wait to feel some more baby movements!! I feel the "fish fin tickling" as someone so appropriately described it, but I'm ready for the next level!!orngbiggrin.gif

I definitely feel something hard down in there.  Maybe that's it?  I feel it best in the shower.

I can despite my belly flab. Last time I couldn't so early but I think knowing what it feels like makes it easier this time.

I think I found it last night... but I'm not so sure.  It was a good two to three inches below my belly button... would that be about right for 13 weeks??  I have no idea.

I have been able to feel mine for a while now. It is lopsided though. More to the right. Mine is right at my belly button. Which I guess is normal at 13 weeks with twins.

I had my first OB appt on Friday and I have been having some pain on the right side. My Dr thinks I might have a fibroid, so I go back in 2 weeks to see if that is what it is. Hopefully not, but we shall see. That may also be causing it to be bigger as well.

Your uterus generally lifts out of the pelvis at about 12 weeks. I'd have your doctor check your fundal height, at the belly button at 11 weeks seems very high, especially if you're having a singleton.

Well, I saw the dr on Friday but we got to talking about other things and I didn't even think to ask about the fundus. He didn't check either, but the heartbeat was about an inch or so above the pelvic bone shrug.gif  He says everything is fine so.... eh. Guess I won't worry too much about it! I'm probably just feeling guts, who knows. I don't go back for another 5 weeks (at 16 weeks) so we'll see what's going on then!

Yeah, if your doctor isn't worried and you're not having any issues I wouldn't worry about it either. Don't worry soon enough you'll be 20 weeks and complaining that you can't eat, sleep, or breathe because the baby is squishing your stomach, bladder, and lungs. Hahah!

I felt my fundus the other day too!  I'm 11 weeks today, and it is right around my pubic bone.  I asked one of my midwife friends to show me.  And then I felt it again last night after sex.  Not to get too graphic, but we were still connected (I was on top, but on my back).  I reached down and just pressed down on my fundus.  We both felt my fundus, which was pretty cool.  Sorry if that is TMI!
