I posted a little more of the story in the Twin Mamas thread, but am hoping for all the thoughts and prayers we can get right now.
I am continuing to have episodes of preterm labor (and the medicine I take to stop this is only helping some) and my cervix has shortened to 0.9 cm. Last night and the night before, I was given steroid injections to speed up the development of the babies lungs. My OB says he is genuinely concerned that I might deliver in the next couple weeks, and I am so scared for my babies! I'm only 28 weeks, 4 days right now and feel so completely unprepared for this.
Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers- that my body can continue to hold on! Thanks, mamas!
RN-BSN student mama to my wildchild, DS, 6 ....with twin boys on the way October 4, 2011!
You can count on my prayers as well! I hope those babies will stay nicely tucked away until they're good and ready.
You reminded me of my very first DDC - on a different site - back when I was expecting my first. We had a DDC member deliver her baby at something like 24 or 25 weeks. It was *so* early, and all of us worried so much. Happily, baby ended up absolutely great... but I know the NICU stay is a nightmare for new mommies! I will pray with all my heart that you get to avoid that.
SAHM to Melinda (Oct '03), Jacob (Aug '05), Alex (Apr '08), and Malcolm (Sept 29, '11)
You can do it!
Married to my favorite person (together since '01, married since '05), the hapa papa to my queeuty quapa DD, born 10/11.
We baby wear, co-sleep, cloth diaper, don't vax and intend to nurse for a good long time.
I don't care what you do as long as it works for your family.
Keeping you and the babies in my prayers, Starlit. Hang in there, and keep on keeping on!
