I'm either 36w1d or 36w3d depending on which date you use, and I think I might need to get checked.

I fell asleep early tonight, and have been up off an on for three hours with really bad pain in my pelvis. I thought nothing of it, since Thrasher dropped really low last night right as I was falling asleep. They started to get worse about 45 minutes ago, so I whipped out my handy dandy iPhone app - 6 in 30 minutes, each a minute long, every six minutes.

Panic. Ok, not total panic, but me going "WTF? Is THIS what labor feels like?!??"

So now I'm in the bath tub at 1:54am hoping it makes them go away... But it isn't. They are more tolerable, but not going away. I've stopped timing for the moment (choosing instead to consult Dr. Google and think about how stupid I was not to save what I'm working on at the office in the shared folder since we're on a tight filing deadline), and am torn between "Could I really be in labor?" and "No!!! I want my birth center birth! I need to make it four more days!!!"

So, point of all of this - when do I call? I don't want to bug her at 2am for nothing, but if I get out of here and they are still six minutes apart (or closer), I'm not being paranoid by placing a call, right!?

And yes, call MWs whenever. Its what they want you to do! I called and chatted with the MW on call several times in the 2 days before I actually went into "real" labor with my first (lots of on-again off-again ctx, lost my plug, etc). They were great.

Karli- just my 2cents- but do whatever you can to take it easy. Eat some small, light but nutritious meals/snacks, rest and lie down as much as possible... I had a lot of early labor with DS and I am so glad I took all the rest I could get. You don't want to get exhausted now in case its a long haul!

And keep us updated! Good luck!!

Wow, Karli!  I kinda hope it's not real labor, since you need a few more days before you can do that, but on the other hand, if what you're feeling isn't real, that's not very fun, either!

Any way it works out, I'm thinking of you and hoping all goes well!  I'll be looking for an update, since it's been a number of hours at this point!

Given that Karli has been a pretty frequent poster on here (at least a couple posts a day) and she hasn't been back on to update since early this morning..... I'm placing my money on our first baby either has been or will be born shortly!

Labor started at 1:15ish, water broke at 5, I was at the hospital pushing by 6, Corbin was born at 6:17am.

His blood sugar was low so he went to the NICU. We are now waiting on the results of his test for Downs Syndrome, which is suspected.

It's a lot to process, but I didn't want to leave you guys hanging. I'll post more when I can.

Woohooo! Karli. Congratulations on baby Corbin. Sounds like labor went quickly. Hope he is stable and gets out of the nicu soon. Hoping you can get the answers that you need and that corbin is getting the care that he needs as well. Have you had a chance to tell him he was a good boy for waiting till you got back from the entire shower ordeal?
