Tentatively posting...

* EDD: Early November (11-5 based on O)
* Name: Xak (pronounced like Zack) or Heather
* Age: 30/31
* I'm in the KC Metro, Missouri
* We got pregnant on the first try (never. happened. before--I took 18 months with my first, 2 months with my second preg (first loss) then 8 months total to get DD2 and I got my BFP yesterday, which I THINK is 14DPO, but might be only 13... there was an issue with O this month where I had strong symptoms for 2 days and I think I may have ovulated twice)
* This will be my third, I hope!
* I have a wonderful husband of 6 1/2 years, two little girls (Lilly: 4, Naomi: 2), two kitties Nimbostratus (Nimbus, boy) and Brat (girl), and three parrots: Shadow (African Grey, Congo), Dionysus (female red bellied parrot) and Sara (cockatiel)

* I believe I'm carrying a girl. I have been trying for a boy every time. I've always wanted a little boy.
* Can't share names, alas! I'm really feeling one in particular, but I don't know how DH would react to proposing a name this early... ever since our first loss, he doesn't even like to know about pregnancy in the first 6 weeks, poor guy--he took it hard
* The birth depends on the legal status of midwives when baby is born. Right now, there is a horrible bill trying to re-criminalize them that could rob me of the option that had finally moved me past my latest birth trauma. I would like to birth in our brand new birth center and they may shut down in September if this bill passes.
* My blog

* I'm an alternative person in general. I am also very emotional in general, but with pregnancy, I have a tendency to overreact a lot. I will realize it and admit that I made a mistake if given the chance and apologize. I don't like debate, arguing or fighting, but I am a little overzealous with sharing what I think is neat informationblush.gif  I don't really fit in anywhere, typically. I'm AP, a writer and a disabled SAHM who spends every waking moment overcoming crippling issues that I was told would eventually hospitalize me with no hope of recovery and that I would never live a normal life, so I have a very different perspective on a lot of things. I have tons of love and empathy for people and cannot hate or hold onto anger very long (though my anger burns VERY hot while it's there--I suffered brain damage from over-medication as a child that gives me very poor anger control--about the level of a 3-4 year old and that took me years to achieve, I used to have none at all). Oh, and I never shut up blush.gif

Oh, and I forgot to say: my first was a cesarean for failure to wait for me to dilate past a 10, my second was a VBAC (UBAC transfer with premature transition) and hoping for a Birth Center VBAC with an awesome midwife

Ooh, the roster is up!  Thanks, Becca!

* EDD: October 30

* Name: Julie

* Age at conception / Age at delivery:  31 at delivery
* Location: Saskatchewan, Canada (it's north of eastern Montana)
* How long it took to you to get your BFP: We started trying in August 2010, got pregnant in September, had a very early loss, waited a couple of months for better timing, and got pregnant on the second try this year!

* What number child is this for you: 1 - it's my first, long-awaited child.  I sure hope it sticks around!

* Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): My wonderful husband, who complements me so well, a dog, a cat, two goats, two donkeys, and about 20 chickens.

* Baby's sex (hopes or guesses): I've thought my first child would be a boy for a long time now, so I'm thinking boy, but I really don't care a whit either way.  I'm kind of hoping for twins (yes, because I'm a little bit crazy) because my husband really doesn't want more than one kid, but he would be happy enough if we got two at the same time (not much he could do about it!)

* Names you like (& are willing to share): I'm a bit of a name-hoarder.  I have about 100 that I like, more for girls than for boys.  My husband has very strange ideas about naming, so I'm having a hard time finding ones that we both really like.  The best I usually get from him is "It's okay".  I would worry that I might not find one he really likes, but he genuinely thinks that Lucifer is an acceptable name, so I suggested perhaps I could have more say in naming, and he agreed.  I would still like to find something he thinks is okay.

* Birth plans/preferences: I'm kind of drawn to a homebirth, but that would make my husband (and me, to a lesser extent) very nervous, as we would really have to do a UC - there are no midwives around here that I can find.  It's a long, long way to the nearest midwife (a three hour drive) through the middle of nowhere, literally not even any houses for a good bit of it.  So, it will probably be in town at the hospital.  Fortunately, the doctor that does all the pregnancy/birth stuff here is pretty fantastic, so I'm going to try to make the most of it.
* Anything else you'd like to share: Like Xak, I'm talkative (thanks for using that positive word for it . . . I might have to copy you and put it into my signature, if you don't mind).  My husband works all summer away from home - I can visit him, but it's about a 10-hour drive.  So I'll be busy on here in the summer, as long as this baby sticks around.  I wish I could do more than I am to ensure a healthy pregnancy and baby, but I know it doesn't work that way.  So I'll just hope!

On a farm with our kiddo (nearly 2), two dogs, two cats, ten goats, two donkeys, nine sheep, a bunch of chickens, and a husband (in the winters). We have another on the way!

Absolutely! "Talkative" is the nice word for it, isnt' it? LOL

You know something interesting about the name Lucifer? Until the King James version of the Bible, Lucifer was only in the Bible to refer to Jesus, who makes a lot more sense as being "the Morning Star" and "Light Bringer". But yeah, the kid would never get past the negative connotation from that one mistake that led to all the books since carrying on the error. It was really finalized when Joseph Smith used that mistranslation for Satan's angelic name in the war of Heaven.

I'm a baby name nerd, too, btw XD as a writer, I've read through SO MANY baby name books for both my own kids and my characters. My husband and I have the problem you're describing with boys names--he barely likes any boys names and I'm really, really picky about them. We have a few names picked, though, and the first one will be named after a very obscure archangel ;) Hence the not sharing with the name :D

* EDD: 1st half.  I'm predicting Nov. 3rd.  I actually had my 1st on the day I predicted (which was different than the EDD my midwife gave me)!
* Name: Time
* Age at conception / Age at delivery: 36
* Location: Southwest
* How long it took to you to get your BFP: We had just barely (maybe hadn't quite) decided that we wanted another and bam!  Guess it was meant to be.
* What number child is this for you: Second
* Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): Husband and DD1 who will be 2 in March.
* Baby's gender (hopes or guesses): DH wants a boy.  I'm trying not to hope for a girl.  :-)
* Names you like (& are willing to share): We don't want to discuss this until we know it will stick.
* Birth plans/preferences: I want a homebirth.  DH is uncomfortable with that and pushing for a hospital birth.  I'm hoping to compromise on a birth center, although I'm not even sure if that's an option where we live.  I had my first naturally in a hospital and it was ok. But my insurance has changed and the hospital we would be at this time is not as natural birth friendly.
* Anything else you'd like to share: Am still bfing DD1.  Kinda hoping she'll self-wean but I'm not optimistic.  Also a bit anxious about sleeping arrangements.  Excited to start this journey!

Very cautiously joining you all, but I just can't wait.

EDD: Nov 5
Name: Megan
Age at conception / Age at delivery:  33/34
Location: Maryland
How long it took to you to get your BFP:2 years this month, with 2 losses last year at 5.5 weeks and 10 weeks. It's been a long road...This was our first cycle after the last loss.
What number child is this for you: 2
Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): DH, DD 3.5, a dog, cat, and kitten
Baby's gender (hopes or guesses): Strongly feeling girl, but that could be just because I just "knew" both losses were boys and hopeful this one's different in every way.
Names you like (& are willing to share): Won't even begin to cross that bridge for a long long time
Birth plans/preferences: Again, I've learned not to start making those plans already. But likely homebirth with a midwife. For now I'll continue to see my RE

Okay, I'll play.. even though I 50% think the pee stick is just lying to me to screw with my head :)

* EDD: Not sure exactly when I Oed but I think Nov 7 is a reasonable estimate. I like having a Monday edd, makes it easy and "even" which day of the week I count my weeks on. My OCD really appreciates it.
* Name: Rachel
* Age at conception / Age at delivery:  24 and could be 24 or 25! My bday is nov 10
* Location: Woodinville, WA
* How long it took to you to get your BFP: Wasn't tryin. Only saw AF twice since ds was born
* What number child is this for you: 3
* Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): dh Eric, 4 yo dd Allie, 21m ds River, 2 cats, Athena and Zeus
* Baby's gender (hopes or guesses): no clue!!
* Names you like (& are willing to share): Last pregnancy I really liked Malia for a girl, but I don't know if I want to use to anymore since I've seen articles about how its on the rise because its Obama's daughter's name. It'd bug me if people thought that was the "inspiration"..I just like it! I have no idea. But I think it'd be awesome if I could find a name thats a common used adjective for an animal. I'm highly amused that I have Allie Cat and River Otter :)
* Birth plans/preferences: Another hbac!

hey new friends! here's my stuff:

EDD: november 2nd
Name: april
Age at conception / Age at delivery: 35
Location: oregon
How long it took to you to get your BFP: years (wonky fertility)
What number child is this for you: 3
Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): husband of 15 years, 12 year old daughter, 5 year old son, 2 dogs, 3 cats, and 5 backyard hens
Baby's gender (hopes or guesses): no preference, no hunch
Names you like (& are willing to share): nope
Birth plans/preferences: my first was a homebirth transport and my second was a successful homebirth, so i reckon we'll aim for the home plan this go around, too.
Anything else you'd like to share: i've had lots of chemical pregnancies, but my last "sticky", if you will, ended in a 2nd trimester loss, which occurred almost 4 years ago. i admit to to being a little nervous about this one, but my gut tells me it's progressing healthily. hope i'm right!

april.

Congrats Rachel!

This is going to put a monkeywrench in for all that Harry Potter fun. ;)
I'm "quietly" standing by right now and watching, maybe we'll see some 11/11/11 babies!

I KNOW right?! lol, this wasn't on purpose, but I secretly kinda hoped for a shot at a 11/1 or 11/11 baby. Maybe I'll have a totally radical midwife who'll be like, "meh, that rollercoaster won't shake a sticky baby free, if you fit in the harness and don't feel sick, go for it"... heheheh. Seriously though, I'm DEFINITELY going to still go on disney world rides that are tame enough for a 4 year old. For heaven sakes, accelerating in a car, speed bumps, sharp corners.. all more "rough" than some of those preschooler-aimed rides! Well, this all assumes that the trip is early enough that I'm not enormous.. we haven't scheduled yet but I'm pushing for early May, before ds is 2.

* EDD: according to the internet calculators, that would be Nov 3
* Name: Amy
* Age at conception / Age at delivery:  27 and 28
* Location: Vancouver, BC
* How long it took to you to get your BFP: i don't know what this is! so many acronyms
* What number child is this for you: this will be our first
* Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): I've got my husband and my dog here for me
* Baby's gender (hopes or guesses): i'm kind of hoping for a girl, but I couldn't say I have any guesses yet
* Names you like (& are willing to share): we were thinking something scandinavian sounding.
* Birth plans/preferences: I'm calling the midwifery group down the street this week to get set up, but I might be moving to a different province before the birth so who knows what will end up happening
* Blog, website or the like:
* Anything else you'd like to share: I'm really happy of course, but also terrified. I had a miscarriage when I was 21 and then another one this Christmas while we were on our honeymoon in Mexico. Not a great vacation. So while I'm excited, I'm definitely not feeling very relaxed about this.

I'll play along, although I am still pretty early along. I've never tested before AF was due, so this is uncharted territory for me.

* EDD: Nov. 13
* Name: sommer
* Age at conception / Age at delivery:  32/33
* Location: KY
* How long it took to you to get your BFP: I don't think we were really trying, but I was charting so I knew when I o'ed - it just happened to be about 5 days earlier than I expected to
* What number child is this for you: 3
* Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): hubby, DS 5, DD 3, and 2 furry dogs
* Baby's gender (hopes or guesses): I've not a clue, and don't really hope one way or the other (yet)
* Names you like (& are willing to share): Names are tough for us, our DD wasn't named until she was 3 weeks old
* Birth plans/preferences: homebirth

* EDD: Nov 3rd (if you go by ovulation), but Oct 31st according to LMP
* Name: Kelly
* Age at conception / Age at delivery:  31
* Location: Eastern NC
* How long it took to you to get your BFP: about 6 months of trying
* What number child is this for you: #2, she's 2 1/2 and still nursing (she loves it) i'd love to wean, or at least night wean
* Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): dh, dd, and d*** dog :-)
* Baby's gender (hopes or guesses): hoping for a boy to carry on the name and balance the family out
* Names you like (& are willing to share):  Roslyn, Emily Anne, or William Thad, or Riley Luke
* Birth plans/preferences: here's the trick: if i stay in my home town where i delivered dd (and loved the ob ward), i have to have another csection, if i want to try for a vbac, i have to go to the hospital 45 minutes away where the rooms are small and they push you out quickly. so i don't know what to do yet

* Anything else you'd like to share: i haven't really told many people, although my dd is telling everyone...i am always so nervous about whether everything will be ok, but that's all of us probably

I'm Kelly, Mom to Merryn 7/28/08 and twins Luke & Thad born 9/26/2011
Can It Get Any Better Than This? Well, I guess it just did!joy.gif

I'm (cautiously) excited to be a part of this group!

* EDD:  November 5th based on O date.
* Name: (whatever you would like to be called or like us to know) Summersquash :)
* Age at conception / Age at delivery:  32/33
* Location: Northern Virginia
* How long it took to you to get your BFP: We've been wanting another baby for a while, but this was my first cycle after having DD.
* What number child is this for you: 2
* Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): Wonderful DH and a 27 month old DD (whose birthday is November 20th)
* Baby's gender (hopes or guesses): Not sure!
* Names you like (& are willing to share): Oh, we have no idea yet.
* Birth plans/preferences: I think it will be in a hospital because that is where DH and my comfort level is right now.  Thankfully I really like my OB practice and they are very warm and kind.  I would like to hire a doula this time, though.
* Blog, website or the like:
* Anything else you'd like to share:

* EDD: Nov. 3rd

* Name: Jenn & April (My partner is the pg one, but Im super involved & wanna be a part of the DDC. I'll get her to join also!)

* Age at conception / Age at delivery: She is 31, will be 32 at delivery.

* Location: Ohio

* How long it took to you to get your BFP: First try! At home, with donor sperm...

* What number child is this for you: This is my 4th, but her 1st. (I have 2 teen sons & a tween daughter, but she considers them hers also)

* Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): Ok so there is her...Me...Our 3 kiddos...2 dogs, 3 cats...Lol

* Baby's gender (hopes or guesses): Well, I told her she was pg, before she actually knew. I dunno, like a mothers intuition ;) So I am also telling her it's a girl...again, dont know why, just my gut. (I actually told her twins, but I really dont feel that way, just like to tease her)

* Names you like (& are willing to share): Only have 1 girls name, which is pretty much set in stone as of now, but no boys names at all. Trying to stick with an E name, as our oldest son is an E, middle son is an A & daughter is an A...Gotta keep the pattern going, rofl!!

* Birth plans/preferences: With the dr, in the birthing center.

* Anything else you'd like to share: Hope everyone has healthy, sticky babies & can't wait to meet you all!

* EDD: Mid-November. According to my dates, looks like November 12 or 13.
* Name: Mal
* Age at conception / Age at delivery: 25
* Location: US
* How long it took to you to get your BFP: Hard telling. My cycles are crazy long. I was supposed to start clomid this month. On day 47 of my cycle with all BFNs I called the doc, who prescribed Provera. I started that last Monday. I got a BFN that day and the next 2 days. Something told me to test again today and it was a glaring positive. DARK line showed as soon as I took the test. I had a possible positive OPK a little over 3 weeks ago. This was our 6th month trying.
* What number child is this for you: This will be #2.
* Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): My husband, Joe and daughter, Owyn.
* Baby's gender (hopes or guesses): I just found out today, so no real hunches yet. But we're really hoping for a boy.
* Names you like (& are willing to share): The only boy name we've ever sort of agreed on is Henry. DH loves Jack. I love Arlo, Knox, Asa, Callum and Efrem.
* Birth plans/preferences: I delivered DD at a hospital with a midwife. But I've since been witness to a homebirth. DH isn't comfortable with a homebirth, but the midwife that was there delivers at a birth center a little over an hour away. I'm planning to call there to see if they take my insurance.
* Blog, website or the like: Nope, just on facebook.
* Anything else you'd like to share: Not much so far. I don't have any symptoms that I've noticed so far. I'm a little worried because of the Provera, but the doc says there shouldn't be anything to worry about. I'm having my hcg levels checked twice this week to make sure things are going alright.

Mallory. Happily married to Joe since 6/25/05. Loving my adventure with my girls, Owyn Samantha, born 3/1/09. dust.gif and Greta June, born 11/2/11  babygirl.gif
