I was told on 3 days ago I was having 1 child and then I went in to do a nuchal screen and they found identical twins. Oh my...I am just wondering how I will night nurse..and also give my DS milk too...so much to think about and plan. Anyone else with twin experience or advice?

Life is exciting!

DDC crashing (though I'm an early Dec pregnancy that will undoubtedly be Nov).  Congratulations!!  Who told you three days ago that there was just one and what did they base that on?

I went in on Friday April 29 for my first ob visit. My ob (who I am questioning his competence now) did the ultrasound and found only 1 baby. He told me I should go in on Monday to get another ultrasound if I wanted a nuchal screen. I arrived there today and they told me I was too early for a nuchal screen (10 weeks 1 day today) but they would date the pregnancy anyway and do a blood test. Long story short.. she immediately saw 2 babies..1 placenta = identical twins..scary...exciting..so many emotions...not at all what we expected but feel lucky too.

Lots of questions too..I want a natural birth...they seem to pushing for a planned c sect-...not what I want at all. We desire healthy babies..I need to do more research.

Wow, how exciting!  Congrats!  Its crazy that they suddenly found TWO babies in there.  Ive worried about the same thing, since my betas indicated twins but my ultrasound showed only one baby.

Congrats!   I know that each state is different, but here in Oregon it's legal to have a twin homebirth (thus no forced c-section).  I know that my midwives will deliver twins, so you might just need to find the right care provider for your new situation.  Good luck!

Thank you everyone for notes of congratulations. It is finally starting to sink in and now I am getting excited. My next ultasound is in 2.5 weeks. It was fascinating to see 2 babies swimming around. I am so tiny..(5'2" and 99lbsI I don't know how they will fit  :)
