Just a friendly reminder that pregnancy makes you more prone to sunburn... as I was reminded of myself today. Oops... where's the aloe?  Sheepish.gif   Check out EWG's guide to sunscreens to pick out one that is safe and not full of a bunch of chemicals.

I opt for the most chemically effective sunscreen out there! Lol.  Im beyond pasty- like Irish, red headed, see-through skin pasty.

Good reminder Jaimee!

Yeah, I'm with you. I know I *should* use something better... but I just have to think of the sun and I'll burn. I burn with sunblock and a shirt on, sitting under an umbrella.

I know I've heard that ingesting coconut oil prevents sunburns. And since I've been cooking with it more and more, I have become a lot more sun tolerant without burning.

Deni. I'm the liberal, Jesus-loving, hippie freak your mama warned you about. Expecting a cinco surprise, spring 2014!

I'm pretty pale myself, though living in Arizona, Texas, and now Maryland has given me more of a tan base over the last 8 years.  I used to use SPF 50+ but I have read that much beyond SPF 30 is ineffective and just advertising.  I switched to mineral based sunscreens that are SPF 30 a couple years ago and find them very effective (when I put them on!  lol.gif).  Some of my favorites are Jason's, Badger and All Terrain.

Ive seen the Jason's, I will have to try it.  Its a little pricier than normal so I wasn't going to risk buying it and it not working.

It's true... they are pricey but they're much thicker and last a long time.  I get mine through a Frontier Natural Products co-op where things are cheaper.
