I have two beautiful biological children (3 and 1.5) and I am considering adopting in a couple of years. I am thinking probably special needs domestic adoption. But I have been told that having bipolar disorder will make it impossible for me to adopt. Is this true? I am a great mom and this really doesn't seem fair to me. Also how does not vaccinating affect adoption?

If you are interested in adopting through the foster care system, you should probably call them and discuss the issue with them. The answer probably depends on where you live. They may or may not have policies that address this issue. If they don't, it might be up to the individual social worker or even the judge. You could also seek out your local adoption support groups and ask about other people's experiences.
