My little sis may be pregnant. If so, she really doesn't want the baby. I don't want to get into any more details, but has anyone ever adopted their sibling's child? or is it just a recipe for disaster? (I don't yet know she won't abort or end up keeping it for that matter) but I have made it clear I would take the baby and raise it in a heartbeat if she wants. just looking for any info. really, just in case she and her BF decide to take me up on this.

Blissful Mama to DD-(5), DS-(6) and someone new due in November!

I haven't but my sister adopted my other sisters child. They still had steps and procedures to follw but not quite as many as I had. They assessed them on their stability, financial aspect, and just checked up on police records and such. This was done a little over two months ago so as for long term effects its hard to say.

I've recently offered to do the same as my younger brother got some girl pregnant. Not sure what will happen with the situation yet as she is only about 6 weeks but I do know she won't abort (thank goodness).

I adopted my brother's ex-partners daughter. In some ways it was much easier than other adoptions, but in terms of possibilities for awkwardness, it is number one
