How beautiful..I am trying to type through tears. i dont know what it is about birth stories...especially these wonderful natural, unhindered ones, that make me cry. Its tears of joy for the moms and their babies. I hope to have as wonderful of a birth experience as you did. Hopefully with a midwife and my hubby there, the second baby can come on its own, but this first one I need help with. Congrats to you and your family.

Had to shed a tear - what a beautiful birth.

IT is A LOT like my second birth actually. My first had been a looong 50 hour labor so I expected the second to be long too. But just like your DH - mine had to go with my son to an aunts place. While he was away cx picked up - water broke and I was pushing before I knew it.
All alone - just like you.
I really wanted my DP to be there though because I knew he would be dissapointed to miss the birth of his baby so I was panting to slow things down. He got home just a few minutes before birth - and the midwife arrived same time my daughters head did. I too believe that being alone helped my body do labor the way it was supposed to. Afterwards I have thought about how I would have labored had my DP been there with me. I guess I would have been more quiet - but him not being there allowed me to shout out just as loud as I felt I needed to.
I think for my next birth I will simply warn him beforehand that I will be shouting like crazy and that he better just stand by, close his ears and wait

Congratulations on such a beautiful perfect birth. They are rare

Beautiful!!! Thank you for sharing this reminder that our bodies and babies know exactly what to do!!

I am just giggling thinking about what your DH must have been thinking as he walked into the bathroom and saw you there, holding your DD!

WOW!
How amazing. I was laughing and crying reading your story, secretly hoping I can have such a special birth with the child I'm expecting. Thank you so much for that story, I want every one I know to read it, although they may not feel as empowerd by it as I was.
Thank you again!
