That is such an amazing story! I love that you got such an intimate and perfect birth.

Mom of a 7 yr old, 4 yr old, and 1 yr old. Wow. How did that happen?

It just goes to show you that birth is a natural process. Us women have so much power and strength we don't even realize it. You instinctively knew what to do because you were focused and intuned to your body. I applaud you!
I too had 3 natural births in hospitals. I wish I could have had a homebirth myself.

I felt that I was right there with you. I absolutely loved your story, it made me cry. I am saving it for my 19yr old daughter to read (she likes these stories!).

I had to laugh when you described the top of your daughters head as a wet tennis ball And I can just picture your husband standing there in the doorway to the bathroom with his car keys in his hand. He sounds a little like my husband.....

Great story. Thank you for sharing it with us.

What a beautiful birth story. It is so refreshing that it does not include one shred of ego. Your gratitude is evident. Congratulations!

What a beautiful birth story! You write so well. I, too, had a very quick and intense labor and birth with ds2, and your imagery described it so well... I really identified with all of it from feeling like being swept up by a tornado to peeling the sweatpants off in order to get at the baby!

However, I was surrounded by people (mw got there just in time), and I think your situation sounded much more peaceful!

Oh Mama I'm in tears... How I wish I'd read this when you first posted it. Your birth was what I dreamed about for my birth with my son, but I was talked out of a homebirth and instead ended up with an induced hospital birth full of interventions. I wish I'd found MDC sooner...

Beautifully written. Thank you so much for sharing. I hope my next birth story will be so amazing. Much love to you and your littles

"As she came out, she turned her head to look at me. Her eye was dark with flecks of yellow, and through it I saw-like a hall of mirrors -every new baby who had looked at every mother to the beginning of time."

That is exactly what it is. Just like that. You are part of eternal life and creation... As is every mother and baby. Your vision is so beautiful. Thank you!

This is my favorite birth story of all time and I think about it and dream of a birth like this for my number 4.

Thank you for the kind words! When Millie was 4 and we were talking about what we saw when we closed our eyes, she said "when I close my eyes I see all the love going to all the people". I always think about that, and hope she'll do the same as she approaches her teen years!
