Congraulations! Sounds like an awesome birth. My third was born in the caul, it was the first time for both me and my midwife LOL.

Did you do anything with the membranes? My friend and doula spread it out on paper and we dried it!

I have some awesome pictures, like the one of the kiddo crowning, though my kiddo was posterior, and actually sort of came out facing my left side...(go figure)! The picture from it is really awesome (and underwater) of course, but I was hesitant to let it out because I had a feeling it would wind up being all over the internet....

And, wow 8.5 hours of pushing! That is incredible! The longest I pushed was about a half an hour with my posterior baby.

Rest up and enjoy your babymoon!

Perpetually breastfeeding or pregnant ENFP mom to a lot of kids...wife to a midwestern nice guy...living in tropical paradise...pink cats and homebirths rock!

Congrats, Angela! I'm so happy to hear you finally have your baby with you! Your journey was an inspiration, to say the least! It really goes to show, that although birth can be hard work, women are strong and amazing and can birth naturally without medical interventions under the most difficult circumstances. I know you have inspired many women here. Enjoy your babymoon!

Jenn, future midwife, mama to 2 sweet girls (6/05) and (5/07).
