An opportunity that might appeal to appropriately qualified readers to try and steer NIAID towards more productive areas of research than circumcision-as-an-AIDS-preventative.

If anyone should happen to be successful in landing a job or contract they first saw on these forums, it would be greatly appreciated if they could donate a certain percentage of net income (maybe 5%-10%) to an anti-circumcision organisation/s in the U.S. (or if you're not confident in donating the money, invest a similar amount in your own anti-circumcision activities).

DIRECTOR, Basic Sciences Program, Division of AIDS, NIAID, NIH, HHS

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) is seeking an exceptional and visionary leader to be director of the Basic Sciences Program (BSP) in the Division of AIDS (DAIDS). The director is responsible for planning, implementing, and directing an extramural program of basic and applied preclinical research supported by grants and contracts to advance research on HIV pathogenesis, immunology, and the epidemiology of HIV disease, as well as drug discovery and development. The director formulates an overall scientific agenda for basic research in HIV/AIDS, recommends resource allocation among competing initiatives, and continually assesses and reorients program activities and priorities to be responsive to changing research needs or redefined policies.
Applicants must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent in an academic field of the health or pertinent sciences allied to health or health-related research and must have demonstrated skills in 1) working both independently and collaboratively in planning, organizing, and conducting biomedical behavioral health, or health-related research. 2) serving effectively in research program administration; and 3) effective communications and collaborations.
