Do you give them a gift? If so, what have you given in the past? What are your ideas for now? I figure, if it's not too early to be thinking about Christmas shopping, it's not too early to be thinking about thank you gift shopping!
I'm Heather, newly married (12/5/10) to James!
We are currently "mama" and "papa" to Maisy and soon... parents to BABY NEW YEAR 2012!! We're happily planning a and intend to
Ha ha! Did I start something? With my first two, I thought I'd get something after they were born, and then after they were born... well, I had a newborn! So I haven't bought a thank-you gift before. This time I'm giving the Baby Egg book, because it looks like a great visual tool for a midwife to have in her office.
~Teresa, raising DS (Jan. 02) and DD1 (Jun. 04) and DD2 (Dec. 11) with DH.
I got my last doula a thank you gift. She was/is really into crystals, stones, and chakra healing, so I got her a piece of a meteorite (from ebay) because I figured the only rock she didn't have was one that came from space.. and a crystal pendulum. She liked it :)
At home with #2, I made a gift bag for each person who was helpful during the pregnancy/delivery that included a few soaps I'd made and three washcloths I knitted.
This time, I know I am making my midwife a pair of knitted socks. I don't know what for our doula yet, and I'm not sure about anyone else. Our midwife has a bigger staff now, and I don't know all of them that well. And one of them (the post-birth nurse) has actively tried to sabotage my business, so... we'll see.
