My son starting having eczema spots on his inner elbow when he was about 2 while living in Japan.  We have since moved to Alabama and his eczema has been progressively getting worse in the year and a half that we have lived here.  It used to go away during the colder months - now it is year around.  In December, his eczema flared to his torso and down his legs.  The 'mainstream' doc just want to give him steroid cream and some crazy antihistimines.  I want to try to find what is causing the problem, not treat the symptoms.   We have tried a myriad of homeopathic remedies.  Right now, we are on day 4 of a cell salt water tonic (10 tabs each of #5, #6,, #9 and #11) in 16 oz of water which he sips through the day.  In addition, I give him an eczema remedy by Newton Labs when needed.  His eczema is really, really dry - no weeping sores but will itch until he draws blood.

I have been trying to do some research but am not having any luck as to a good single remedy to give him.  Can you advise of a good single remedy to try or cell salt remedy?  I do understand that homeopathic remedies take time to heal.  I am trying to balance my understanding of this with my wanting him to have is suffering alleviated.  Any help would be so greatly appreciated.

As I stated earlier, we live in Alabama. Can you refer us to a great naturopath in Alabama (or nearby) or one in Asheville, NC (we will be going there during Easter break to visit my MIL).

Thank you for your time.

Eczema is one of the most common childhood ailments I see in my practice, and there is a lot that can be done with natural remedies to improve or eliminate the condition.  I recommend working with a naturopathic physician who can take your son's case and prescribe appropriate remedies.  Try this finder to locate one in Alabama or North Carolina.  If you have questions, give the physician a call and ask to speak with them briefly before scheduling an appointment to determine whether they are a good fit for your son's needs.
