I was recently diagnosed with "the beginnings of bv" via culture that my mw did. She initially suggested I see my primary for antibiotics, but I'm very hesitant to go that route (especially right away). Although, I do know there is an increased risk of preterm labor with bv, although my mw didn't seem overly concerned. It does make me nervous. Anyway, I've been trying baking soda baths, vaginal/oral probiotics, yogurt and even garlic vaginally. These things don't seem to be helping. Is there anything else you can suggest or any thoughts you have on the dilemma.

Since I am not a midwife, I can't advise you on your treatment. Vaginal infections are common, and generally I follow with additional cultures a few weeks apart to see if the infection resolves on its own, only treating if the woman has symptoms. But, not being a midwife, I don't advise pregnant women on treatment.
Best of luck! I would follow your midwife's advice, and have her re-culture to see if things have resolved.
