Hi Dr. Bob,
First--thank you for all the information you provide as a pediatrician through your books, tv appearances, website, etc!
I had a cracked amalgam filling that I just had replaced following a good protocol (dental dam, cold water, suction, etc). Any thoughts on how long to wait to TTC with regards to possible mercury exposure from the filling replacement?
I also had additional amalgam fillings I wanted to have replaced--do you normally recommend a mom wait until pregnancy and nursing is completely over before replacement?
Thank you! Sandra
I don't know the answer to this. NOt sure what the studies show on timing. I do agree that you shouldn't do this while pregnant or nursing, but I can't tell you how long you need to wait, or whether you do it all now before TTC or wait many years from now when you are done "c-ing".
