Hello, Dr. Bob. Thank you for taking time to answer my questions.
My babies have all had baby acne, but my youngest had a pretty severe case with lots of pustules. It showed up around 2 weeks and stayed until he was about 4 months. The problem now (at 12 months) is that he has acne scarring on his cheeks. Everything I've read said that baby acne rarely leaves scars, but he has red dots and visible pores on his cheeks, where he had the worst concentration of pimples.
Is there anything that can be done about this? What is the likelihood that they will fade?
Thanks in advance for your input.
This is so rare - I don't think I've ever seen it happen. I'm not actually sure what to do here, or at what age you may expect the scars to resolve. I know there are some scar treatments available, but I honestly don't know if they are ok for babies. One is Mederma (over-the-counter).
